I thought the deluxe pack stuff would be available from start. I guess you have to open an area up before I can get. Or at least infuse so I don’t lose it on new loop.

All you need to do is complete the tutorial level. You must have done that by now. It only takes a half hour or so.

Complete The Longest Day

To unlock your Digital Deluxe Edition content, you need to complete the game’s tutorial. Deathloop has quite a lengthy tutorial because it’s such a vast game, but it’s all covered under the same mission called The Longest Day. This is the mission you’ll begin when you first load up Deathloop. Follow it to its conclusion, and you’ll be able to access the following content from the loadout screen.
  • Two Trinkets
  • Transtar Trencher
  • Sharpshooter Julianna and 44 Karat Fourpounder Skins
  • Party Crasher Colt and Eat The Rich Tribunal Skins
You can equip all of these items from the loadout screen between missions or times of the day. Furthermore, they persist through all loops, so you don’t need to worry about picking them up again each time you restart the loop.

You’ll know that you’ve unlocked the ability to use these because a small prompt will pop up and tell you. However, if you miss that, you should know you can use these items because they’ll appear on your loadout screen, and you’ll also see that you’ve completed The Longest Day.

I’ve been taking my time and move rather slow when I’m being stealthy. Love getting up to an eternalist and slowly breaking their necks.

Remember this is a loop game and everyone you kill will be back there tomorrow morning. Get to the end of the tutorial so you can start making some progress.

If you die with a slab that’s not infused (shift), do you find it in the same area you got it the first time (killing Charlie and in his room)?

You’ll have to kill Charlie again (or maybe get it by killing Julianna). And you’ll want to do it multiple times anyway to get all the upgrades/variants.

Re: Deathloop - from Bethesda Studios - 9/14/21 (PC, PS5 Console-Exclusive)

Gotcha. Figured. Thanks. This game is tough, unforgiving with so many enemies in the beginning. But, it’s phenomenally addictive. Such style, ingenuity. Like a mesh of great games in one. Just wish I was better. And, the online helps are so contradictory. One says kill this boss first, another says this one. I need help, but not be confused more. Even still, this game is just fun. I think about when I’m not playing.

Once you get some more slabs and the right weapons (and you can get the best weapon in the game at the very beginning), it gets a lot easier. And the time loop element works in your favor too, since everyone’s at the same places doing the same things every time of day. After playing for a while, you’ll have routes and tactics memorized.

Re: Deathloop - from Bethesda Studios - 9/14/21 (PC, PS5 Console-Exclusive)

AT, iyo, who’s the first visionary to take out and then second?

I was going Charlie for shift and then Dr. Wenjie for infusion.

I fucking had shift for a hot minute. Killed Charlie, from quite a distance as I saw in a help video, got to his room, got the slab and get killed on the way to exit. I was pissed.

But, it really doesn’t take you back too far. I thought it was like I wouldn’t get back to place, since no map really, but it’s seconds before you’re right back, but now know a little more strategy the next go round.

Why does tutorial say to hold B to move quietly for an assassination? All I can do is crouch and lean. Or is the crouching the lightly treading?

^^ Crouching is the "tread lightly" move

Wenjie first; no point in getting another Visionary’s slab if you can’t infuse it and keep it with you. After that, prioritize Shift or Nexus. Shift is great for traversal and escape, and Nexus is a godsend, especially for stealth, since you can take out multiple enemies with a single headshot.

I wonder why the online guides don’t mention doing Wenjie first. It makes the most sense. Two of them said Charlie, but makes sense to get infusion first or what’s the point of doing others when if you die, like myself, you lose it all.

Did they ever fix the weird glitchy thing that make Julianna and Cole always jump on the end of each other's lines, which makes it sound like they're over-eager drama students in a high school play and less like they're having a conversation over walkie talkies?

I didn’t notice anything unusual. They seemed spread apart a bit, but sounded like normal conversation. The subtitles looked like a normal conversation too. A lot of bickering. 😜

I think they’re assuming you’ve already killed Wenjie since the story pushes you in that direction (if I remember correctly).

Re: Deathloop - from Bethesda Studios - 9/14/21 (PC, PS5 Console-Exclusive)

It does. The Ubiquity mission is next after The Longest Day and that’s the way it pushes. I just saw those online things and they said Charlie and shift more important, but doesn’t make sense now that I think about. Plus, I can get that silenced pistol you were talking about. It’s in The Complex, on the way to Wenjie, right?

I’m just loving the possibilities of this game. It’s so much fun. Sometimes frustrating but fun as hell and addictive like I mentioned.

I even turned it on on a “school night” just to put myself at afternoon and follow the Ubiquity mission in The Complex when I get more time to be enthralled.

So, I need infusion before I get my deluxe pack items? I thought I would get them at least after each loop.

And, is it easy to get residium and keep weapons and trinkets and stuff by infusing?

Re: Deathloop - from Bethesda Studios - 9/14/21 (PC, PS5 Console-Exclusive)

I'm assuming the answer is "yes" since this is a loop game but I accidentally dropped my silent nail gun (love that thing), was subsequently killed, and now don't have it. I suspect I can pick it up again if I run thru The Complex map again?
