Will Gamestop decrease XB1X trade in value before XSX launch?
 

As a means of prediction, previous experience or other do you anticipate Gamestop decreasing the trade in value of the Xbox One X prior to the release of Series X? I’m asking because I am debating when I’ll trade in my current system (X1X). I’d like to be able to play it as long as possible but don’t want to miss out on its current trade in value. Additionally, Gamestop will often provide nice trade in packages for new systems so I’m potentially waiting on that. Any thoughts? Thx in advance!

Gamestop trying to rip off consumers? That doesn't seem very likely.

They announced today that the trade-in value is $200.

That seems light. But I guess the One X will get a price drop so it makes sense.

It's tempting to unload my Xbox One S. I only bought it back in the day to play UHD discs, never really bought that many games.

I'm kind of surprised it's as high as $200, given that so many places were selling new XB1X-es for $300 for such a long while. Microsoft discontinued the XB1X a couple months ago, FWIW (aside from the seemingly-already-sold-out Cyberpunk bundle). There might be closeout prices for remaining stock at some point, but it looks like there aren't many consoles left in the wild.

Scorpio Editions should be worth at least $1 more, IMO. ;)

I have a Project Scorpio edition and I bet they wouldn't give you that. Unless I go flat broke between now and then, I think I will keep mine.

I'm looking on GameStop now and both the X and Pro seem to top out at 175. I'm guessing the $200 offer is over? Or maybe just not started yet?

I’d guess it’s tied to preordering one of the new consoles, but yeah, I’m seeing the same thing right now.
