I'm fine with the system they had. If you want it, you'll be willing to wait a couple minutes. No issues with the checkout process once it let me add to cart.
Went to Target right when it opened to see if I could score one with a red card discount. There were a bunch of people waiting at the door and for a second I thought it was because of this thing. But everyone was there for a PS5. I was the only one there for Mario. Iím not sure why they were there today as it released yesterday. Oh well. They didnít have any PS5s so they all left empty handed. I thought for sure I would be the only one to leave happy but I donít think my Target got a shipment of these game and watch units in. Or at least thatís what the electronics guy said. So thatís a bummer. These might be a bit difficult to get your hands on so if you want one I would get one when you see it.

Target has them online now. If anybody wants one, Iíd suggest following Wario64 on Twitter and turn alerts on. He has been updating anytime these are up, as well as PS5s, and any game and major deals.

Yeah I was able to get one this morning, so apparently whatever mitigation they're doing works (I missed the "back in stock" email at around 11pm last night)

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

I fell asleep on my couch and went up to bed around 4:30. Checked the forum for a bit and saw people talking about it. So for curiosity I searched for it. Couldnít find it in stock anywhere at first, but then I saw Best Buy had it. Had to wait like ten to fifteen minutes for their new system, but eventually I wound up getting one. Even better was that I have a Best Buy gift card and it covered the whole amount.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Just picked mine up from Best Buy. It's tiny. I played with it for a few minutes, and now I'm asking myself, why the hell did I buy this thing? Screen is nice though. I think I would like it better if it came with a stand or something to use its clock function.

Or even like the little metal fold out stand that the old one had...

Guess I'll just wait for the hacks to happen to make this a portable system.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

I preordered from Amazon UK, which was about $75, because I worried about finding it. Then I found it locally at Best Buy, but when I tried to cancel my Amazon UK order, it said it was too close to shipping. So I guess my brother is getting my extra one for Christmas.

Would have been a nice feature for the clock to have a kickstand or something. I mostly bought this for the novelty factor and I love Super Mario Bros. Kind of a neat little trinket and I like handhelds.

Oh man that sucks they didn't build that little tiny metal loop thing in to it? That would have been perfect and a neat detail.

Yeah I'm purchasing it more for a collectable/novelty then a gaming system. I'm sure I'll get tired of it quickly. I really wish it wasn't $50 but what can I say. I'm a real sucker for these things. I wouldn't be really surprised at people being disappointed in this thing expecting something different. You should see the confusion in the thread at slickdeals. A bunch of people bought them not knowing what it is.

I wouldn't expect too much out of it. It only has 1mb or ram and 8 mb of flash memory. It would be awesome to put the original G&W games on there if possible. I'm not sure how though as those games were a totally different technology. Maybe the GB version of them? This is definitely more of a novelty as there are other better non official portable systems out there if you want a machine to play roms.

Dang it, I thought we'd collectively decided not to buy this at fifty bucks so we could all snag it for twenty bucks on clearance, people.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Thing is this is probably going to end up being one of those things Nintendo puts out that will disappear and shoot up in price. Supposedly itís only going to be available until March.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Got mine today from Best Buy. This thing is really cool. They put a lot of thought and detail into the packaging as well. Feels more like a Japanese release with all the neat touches. It's not really comfortable at all to hold and play but it is a really cool device. The screen is really nice to look at and the novelty of playing SMB on a game & watch device is really cool. Overall it's a neat idea. Not sure if it's worth it at $50 but I'm still happy with my purchase even though I'm pretty sure I won't put much time into it.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Got it yesterday. Wont be playing it much, but I like the look of it.

I wish the Ball game had the original face, instead of that dopey Mario face shoehorned in from the Game Boy Camera version.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Got mine today. Best Buy got this out fast. Ordered it Friday morning, so it only took the weekend for it to arrive.

I think itís cool. Tiny for sure and a bit hard to play for lengthy periods, but a fun little device. Minor gripe is itís a little awkward to play when you have it charging. The cable gets in the way. Iíve made it to World 3-1so far.

Re: Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

Iím having fun with this. Yeah, itís overpriced and just another way to play Super Mario Bros., but the novelty of it is cool.

It does sort of have a feel of something that we normally wouldnít get in the US and would be a Japanese exclusive or something. I like how it harkens back to the Famicom with the red and gold colors.

I can see this being something I carry with me in my pocket when I donít want to lug around my Switch.
