Please post a pic here. Would like to see a close up. Was way too much work for me to attempt.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

I played a little more of Mario 64 last night and I'm adjusting to it. I'm up to 6 stars now. I'm struggling trying to talk to people or read signs though. I have to get right on top of them to read or talk.

I played Sunshine for about thirty minutes. I struggled with aiming the FLUDD cannon, but hopefully I'll get used to it. I may try to play a little bit of Galaxy this week.

I'm having the same issue with Ghost of Tsushima. I guess there are just some hurdles that devs can't overcome in 25 years.

Iím up to 44 or 45 stars in Super Mario 64. Started it late Sunday. I have so much of the game memorized that itís fairly easy for the most part. Some tricky things but itís not too bad mostly.

I would've tried for the pin, but it required completing some tournament in the Mario Kart phone game, and I got an error message two weeks straight just trying to open the app.

That wasnít required; 5 out of the 6 tasks were needed. Purchasing the game was required, then you could do any of the rest to make up 5 tasks. They didnít even plan on marking the Mario Kart one as ďcompleteĒ until after the pin thing ended.

I played Sunshine last night and this morning. I have 8 shines and I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’m liking it now that I have a handle on the controls.

I was confused by this too. I'm also confused because they ran out of pins so fast, and like you said, the mario kart thing wouldn't even redeem until the end of the month, so I didn't think they were going to sell out, let alone sell out in an hour.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

The controls in Mario 64 really are a lot more finicky then I remember. Even moving him slightly and pushing the punch button causes him to belly slide instead. My 8yo had a tough time beating King bobomb because of it. And I forgot how you are constantly fighting the camera. Like you'll get the angle just right and then it suddenly moves on it's own. My daughter got up in the middle of the night one night when I was playing so I totally gave her the controls to let her investigate the piano in Boo Mansion.

Yeah, I'm at about 110 stars right now, and I'm really battling the camera on some of these levels. I feel like it's really going to make me appreciate the improvements that were made moving forward. I don't remember any camera issues in Odyssey, or nothing that hurt the experience for me.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

Took a break for a while so I just wrapped up getting all 120 Stars in Super Mario 64. Kind of stuck on the last Bowser battle though. I know Iíve done it before, and itís straightforward enough, but after youíve thrown him into two of the spikey bombs and the platform forms into a Star shape itís harder to throw him into the last one. You have to do it strong enough to throw him, but also have to do it accurately so he actually hits.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

Finished off Super Mario 64 and now am starting Super Mario Sunshine. Iíve never played Sunshine and am having some difficulty getting used to it. The mechanics of the game feel kind of clunky and hard to use, especially that damn water backpack, which is essential for gameplay. Iím intent on finishing it, but I can see it being a bit of a chore.

Man, I just am having a hell of a time with Sunshine. Iíve been playing for a couple days and just donít seem to be getting a feel for it. Only have five shines so far, and the ones I have Iíve struggled to get. I want to beat the game but itís frustrating.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

It's a learning curve, but eventually it will feel natural. Just keep in mind that there are two spray settings, stationary and moving. You want to be using the correct one for certain situations. The hover spray setting can save your ass quite a bit in this game when you miss platforms so get used to that one fast.
