I have discovered that I draw the sidequest line with stacking rocks on top of other rocks.

Buttttt this game gets points for the Winnie the Pooh Easter egg

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I was able to take out two Zealots while I was a bit under leveled. They were level 90 and I was level 83. Getting the Missile Reversal skill really helps. I had an easy time taking one out, but a much harder time taking out the second one. I had used all my rations on the second one and stayed as far away as I could and just kept chucking his missiles and smoke bombs back at him to finally take him out. I may go back and fight the witch again when I'm at least level 90.

I have two alliances now and about to head to East Anglia for another.I ran out of time and didn't really do any of the Yulefest activities (today was the last day of it). I was too busy trying to complete my second alliance.

Missile reversal? I have yet to find it. Sounds cool. Will try to snag it tonight. 65 hrs in and still much to do.

Thanks. This will be most useful in the last few alliances I need.

Best skill for me is the one which slows down time on a perfect evade, then you can pretty much eviscerate everyone afterwards. Also, poison arrows and poison clouds- that way when someone dies it causes a chain reaction of other enemies getting poisoned until they just all drop dead with only a few shots.

Oh, and love my wolfie friend.

I can't figure out how to get the wolf to leave my room. I have the ability equipped but can't use it. He doesn't leave...just sort of lies around like a college roommate.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Missile reversal makes killing a lot of the high level characters much easier. It's also awesome just to throw someone else's weapons back at them in general.

Anybody find the reference to Trogdor the Burniator?

Ha, those UBI folk have a sense of humour.

I did run into a guy who lost his sheep called "Fenton". That made me laugh.

Holy shit this game is huge. I have almost 200hrs into the game and I just found a random place on the map in a huge cavern with puzzles. It's amazing to me they cranked the game out so quickly. I didn't buy the Season Pack because I knew it was big, but I didn't realize it was this big.

"Quickly"?
They were working on it for nearly 4 years (they started during Origins - a different developer had worked on Odyssey).

Oy, clearly, at 70 hours of play, I am skimming the surface to not stray too far from the main story but just did a portion where I thought the game was over but looks like we got more to go.

Also, who else has opted to form a romance with your brother's wife?

I started my relationship with Petra but when things got heavy with Randvi I broke up. I'm loyal to one woman, even if it's the brother I am trying to save's wife.

It sure makes getting to see the Alliance Map more interesting.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

There's going to be a new Assassin's Creed game featuring Basim coming out in 2023. It was originally planned to be a Valhalla expansion. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-fill-schedule

They need to get their $70 somehow.

I think this is it for me. Valhalla is so bloated and grindy I can't see myself playing another AC for quite a while.

I said that after Odyssey, but I'm back playing Valhalla about a year after I finished the main story in Odyssey.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

One thing that irks me about these AC games is that the character has to grunt at every stage of your climb or jump. The repeated sound over and over again is so annoying, especially when trying to focus on completing the anomaly challenges.

I feel this. Have played AC since the first one, but Valhalla was not only a step backwards from Odyssey but it's just wayyyy too much. I made it pretty far but may not go back to it. I appreciate the effort, but at some point it just feels like the same thing over and over.

I'm 2mos into it and there's still plenty left of the story, haven't gone on many raids or played the minigames. I'm glad I didn't buy any of the expansions.

I recently picked this up for $7 on clearance for PS5 at a local Walmart.

Looking forward to digging into this in the next couple months!
