Ah, probably why not so memorable. I don’t remember either that or the one right before it with the lock. This marble is killing me. I thought I had it. It looked good, but hasn’t clicked yet. Very frustrating.

Huh. It just took for me to starting fresh from a save right outside the door. I reloaded and got that marble on first try. Feel so relieved…

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake
This is a game i want to savor and last as long as possible. Even though I would love to play more than a couple hours on weekend and finish, I also just want to take it in. I feel like exploring more this time around. Getting all the treasures, rubies, emeralds, etc.. Soak it up. I would love to 100% this. And it have it be only my second I 100’d (after RDR1).
Does this even have achievements? I don’t remember.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake
Finally beat the game
My time is 29:58:34, 102 saves, and a B ranking. Good game with great graphics however I still favor the original because it had more challenged plus the remake didn't have U3 boss which was a disappointed. Got my Red9 maxed out going to maxed my Striker, Stingray, Fighting Knife, and Broken Butterfly on new game plus.

I'm about to start chapter 15 and I do have my Red9 maxed out with the stock equipped on it. I have it as GameFly rental, so when I finish it, it's going right back to them. I have Dead Space on the way.

I swear, as much as I played the original, I don’t remember like 3/4 of the stuff in this game. I don’t know what’s new, old, whatever. It really is a fantastic game. And, I have so much to go. 😎

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake
This game is really well made. I find myself for the first time playing an RE game, liking the merchant exchanges. I'm an in your face weapons guy (shotguns, pistols, etc.) and I like the strategy that goes into planning my next buy. I literally spent a half hour or so with the merchant one time to strategize how I was going to get a great loadout before moving on - this included using the rubies in the objects you find, making sure I really want to sell old weapons, etc...
This up there with the best RE titles for me, I think I might like it even more than Village.
The enemy movements, lighting, & boss battles are a lot of fun. Loved when Ruiz and Leon had to stand their ground.
The one-liners are super cheesy but im guessig that's the throwback stuff.
I'm only on chpater 7 but I love it.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake
Finished it last night - didn't want to but I couldn't stop playing. This is easily one of the all time best games I have ever played. Combat was the tightest I've ever felt in an RE game and I loved the knife fights with Krauser. The cart rides were amazing and there were so many different freaky villains in this game which kept it fresh - the thing that creeped me out the most were the knights and that monster in the basement (I didn't stick around to find out if he could be killed or not lol - if he could be killed, I probably missed out on collecting a ruby or something.
Loved upgrading weapons and all the different configs you can come up with, found myself really thinking about how I wanted to upgrade, what to buy, etc..
Chapter 14 was stupid long, and the combat got to be a bit too much at times, but it still doesn't detract from the overall rating this game deserves.
Also, Not sure how many people know this or not but, I NEVER back track in video games but in this one I knew there was something I wanted to check out in the castle - I went back and it made the game feel alive as there was a ritual going on in one of the halls that I already cleaned out - I killed the red robe dude and got a ruby, before getting to that part, I had to first go back to the room where you kill the two beasts to get the unicorn fragments to open the doors and there was another set of baddies for me to take out there as well - they were super aggressive this time as well - such awesome attention to detail.
I couldn't figure out what to do in the room where you're supposed to destroy the picture on the wall (the room with the chickens in it and when you sit down on the throne it says "there's no time for resting").
The Grand Hall with the blue carpet was my absolute favorite environment.
Leon is also now a video game icon for me - one of the ones I love the most.
Also, about his cheesy one-liners, I know a lot of people hate them but I loved them, so corny and they made me laugh - did anyone catch the starship troopers reference?? "I hate bugs".
So, where does this game rank in the series for me? Well, RE2 will always be tops, even if this game out did it, RE2 is forever the nostalgia masterpiece so it has to stay at the top spot. While the gameplay is MUCH superior to what you get in Village, I still absolutely love Village and the Shadows of Rose DLC is the best DLC I have every played and also has the creepiest/scariest segment ever in a horror game for me (the mannequins).
Very happy I got the Best Buy steel book version of this game and I will definitely be playing through it again one day.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake
For anyone interested - Capcom is a having a huge sale right now on a lot of titles (On the Series X anyway, I don't know about any other consoles). I just got the Original RE4, 5, & 6, for $19.38.
Village has a huge discount as well as the other remakes.
