I picked up the pocket organizer for more inventory space but is there another upgrade to get? I can’t find anything to increase my carry space

After you upgrade Residential Services, the ATM thing will have a "Ultimate Pocket Stuffing" item that you can buy for 8,000 Nook Miles that gives you more. The max pocket space with the upgrades is 40 slots.

Is there a reason wood or fruits etc will take up two inventory spots even though they are the same item? Is there a limit per spot?

They break down by type.

Wood: Wood, Hardwood, Softwood, Bamboo, Young Spring Bamboo... they each take up a spot and have a limit of 30.

Fruits (as well as mushrooms and veggies) have a limit of 10 per type per spot in the inventory: Apples, Oranges, Pears, Cherries, Peaches, Coconuts, Pumpkins (four varieties/colors), etc.

Shells and other like items on the Beach have a limit of 10 per type per spot.

The reasoning is they are all different ingredients in various recipes for crafting.

As you play, you’ll be able to expand your inventory spots in your pocket (40 max).

I'm catching up from August when I ran out of storage space and quit playing. I'm annoyed that the nook store keeps offering me toys that I already have.

While I'm whining I wish the item descriptions included the color. For us color blind people it would be a great help.

Dang, missed out on the toy day event. I thought it was the 25th. Holidays have always been difficult in AC because usually you're busy in real life and forget to play. And some of the events in the past take way too long and are too involved.

you can always move the system clock to 12/24 to experience it

One of the AC forums on Facebook said days like Toy Day are disabled to prevent abuse. I haven’t done time travel yet, so I don’t know if it’s true or not.
