Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

I think our community aspect will make our individual islands a much better experience. We can share creative ideas and good that can make our own thoughts into a reality. After spending so much time working on things and collecting goods, it is nice to be able to share them with you guys. I have my house completely paid off and my island about 90% finished. There is zero problem for me in sharing or buying items for you guys. I had a surplus of stars and sent them to all of my friends. I will also gladly build items that I can. I just might ask for the supplies if it is wood or gold nuggets. I have also shared a ton of fossils with a few on here to help them finish their dino museums. That will free up that chore so you can spend your time formulating your island plan.

It is a real joy to visit your islands and I look forward to when every once barren space becomes a kick as representation of each one of us if you need something then please ask and I or another person will surely help out.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

I have been stockpiling items and variants, so if you need a certain item and color then please ask. Also, if you will post your specific fossil needs and if you would like help then I will check my inventory. I can either mail them to you, or if they are a lot, bring them to you and drop them off. Working hard to clear out some inventory as I am well over 1500 of my 1600 storage space. I sure wish there was a better way for us to communicate in this game and/or with the Switch. It stinks that we can't even send each other messages in the Switch without actually being on each other's island. In a way the Switch is detrimental to its own online community growth.

I've seen 3 so far and they all hit me quick. Haven't had a chance to sneak up on one yet.

I don't have any of those right now but let's keep our needs posted. I'm looking for anyone that can order me any clothing of Cavalier or Mariachi. I'm looking for outfits, pants, hats and shoes of those two. Can you guys please check your clothing category and see if you can get any of those pieces? Also, please post your dino needs and I will try to get them for you. I have about 40 unique fossils in my storage now and I would rather give them to those that need specific ones than just sell them off.

Wolf, I'm pretty sure I left the last fossil you need just to the west of your plaza. Let me know if that completed your dino collection.

Edit : Both Iguanodon Torso and Left Ptera Wing mailed to Shea. He can get them to you.

I had like five Left Ptera wings in my storage

Thanks, Decker. I will get it from you later tonight or you can mail it to me. If you do, I will turn around and mail it to Cow. Wolf, thanks for the arcade game! It's already in my play area, right next to my pinball games. I got a baseball pinball game from another friend today if anybody wants one.

I unlocked terraforming finally. Any advice to start? This is going to be expensive having to move residents

I would honestly think about how your island and residents are already laid out and form your wanted island around them. The game area that you already have should stay there and be made larger. I would do that. I didn't move any of my residences from where I first placed them. I also had zero forethought of how things would be later on when I first placed the houses but it worked out in the end. You can either plan a close-quarter residential area and move houses together or keep your guys where they are and try to build roads, paths, etc. to their places and tie themes and activities to certain areas. That would be my suggestion.

As far as waterways go, I would keep a pond or two and your rivers, but don't be afraid to adjust their width for what you would like to add to an area. Be aware that hard paths like brick and concrete will prevent things from growing up out of them but soft surfaces like dirt will not. You will have to be on the lookout for weeds and pull them from time to time. Finally, think of where you want to place your orchards and how many of each tree you want there. Select places to grow flowers and if you want to fence them off from visitors or leave them freely blowing in the wind and ready to be pillaged by a non-courteous visitor. Let me know if there is anything that I have that you would like to improve your island. Can't wait to see the progress. I'm here to share ideas if you would like my input.

So is there any point in having cliffs now? Ramps are so expensive better to just have one huge flat landscape.

I'm going to guess that cliffs might have something to do with getting to 5 stars but I am not sure.

Caught my first scorpion tonight. Oddly, I ran right past him and over a bridge and he didn't chase me.

I did the sneak-up thing like you do with tarantulas. It felt like I had to approach him a more slowly. But that could have just been because I was nervous about getting the first one.

Did anyone else start having mushrooms grow all over their town (and buried in the ground) starting in May, or is that a Southern Hemisphere thing?

There are fish that only spawn in elevated rivers.

I’m genuinely relieved that I don’t know nor care enough about Disneyland to be excited about this. But it’s impressive.

That means you now have tarantulas and we have scorpions. I would love to visit sometime.

So, is there any sort of strategy with Turnips? I bought my first batch at 110 and the buy price is today is 49 (it's 97 on my wife's island).

It's a gamble. There's some kind of algorithm that places like:
https://stalks.io/
can help you predict but it's still not foolproof. Though I have never seen a situation where it doesn't go above the asking price, even a little, the question becomes if you're willing to wait to see if it goes higher. Also there are two prices every day, the price basically changes at open and at noon, so 12 different prices a week (since Sunday is a no sale day)
