My 99 bell tree paid out! I might start keeping track of how often your return matches tomorrow.

Does the bell tree just pay out once? Because my 99k bell tree became 30k of bells.

Also, maybe it's because I picked Southern Hemisphere or maybe because I don't play at the right time of day, but I rarely get a ton of butterflies.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

It only pays out once. Then it becomes a regular fruitless tree.

And yes, the fish and bugs are affected by the seasons, so you simply may not have as many butterflies available right now.

For example, the peacock butterfly is available from March-June in the northern hemisphere, but September-December in the southern hemisphere.

My 99k tree plant also only paid out the 30k. I won't be risking that again. Sticking with the 10k plant from here on out.

How's everyone's turnip prices? I'm currently at 154, but I have a feeling it's going to go higher. If anyone is interested, I can leave my town open for those who want to sell.

Yeah 154 isn't very high. People are making trips to other islands when they are buying for 400-600 bells. I haven't even gotten into turnips yet. I've paid off everything without it.

Yeah, I don't have many people to sell turnips too, so I haven't yet sold them for higher than this. I know there are huge bell blips. What's a place to go where I can get into those villages?

I bought maybe 100k worth of turnips at just below 100 bells, and right now they're selling for 116. Last week the highest they went on my island was ~150.

My highest last week was about 150 as well. Down to 65 today, and the highest it's been this week is 85.

spainlinx0 if your town is open, I may take you up on selling my turnips to your folks.

What time do the turnip prices change, is it when they open every morning or in the middle of the day?

It changes at the start of the day, and then again at noon.

I have just added the 3rd room to my house. Any tips on how to pay the entire house off with all the upgrades? This feels like real life 30 year mortgage.

Just doing my normal activities on my island, selling extra fossils, fishing, etc I usually get around 150,000-200,000 bells in a day playing a couple hours. Shouldn't be to long to get it paid off.

My Wife made (what we thought ) was an amazing discovery tonight. At the very top of our island, on the very back looking straight at the ocean and the other islands far off in the distance, there's a secret little beach area at the very bottom. Just look at your map and see if you have it. If you do, go there, grab your ladder and climb all the way down. It's a very nice, private area just to grab some beach chairs, hang out, and enjoy the view and the fishing.

I thought you were going to tell me there are like secret fossils there. I have that place as well, I usually go there to look at the shooting stars.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

Do fish ever appear there without bait? I have been back there a few times, and I have never seen anything pop up in the ocean.

My prices are up to 174 this morning. I have a feeling they'll keep increasing into tomorrow as well. Hopefully I'll get a big spike this afternoon.

Not that I'm aware. Nothing has ever spawned naturally facing North.

Do you guys use the Turnip Prophet? I've been keeping track of mine all week. It predicts I'm going to get a large spike tomorrow morning for turnip prices.

Just cross-checked with the Stalk Market wizard, it also predicts I'll get a large spike Friday morning.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

I finally got my robot built. It was a bit of an undertaking. I had to get 30 rusted parts, 110 iron nuggets, 10 star fragments, and I believe 18 gold nuggets in total. Then you had to be lucky to get the Robot and Rocket recipes from Celeste, along with the Gold Armor recipe from elsewhere. It is pretty cool, as it stands as tall as the Godzilla monster in the game. I have them sort of facing off. Was able to get them both to do their special actions close to at the same time.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20: Switch)

I downloaded an iOS app where you can actually queue in line to sell your turnips at people’s villages. They usually ask for a tip or something, and you can choose where to go. I sold my turnips for like 500 bells.
