For those wanting a challenge, I give you ACNH HARD MODE!

… it was trending on Twitter.

And no, I’m not doing it. Not enough time in the day.

I loaded this back up for the first time in a long time and was told by my villagers that I had been gone for 2 years and 9 months. I'm just glad that they never left. I have also caught an inordinate amount of bass in my recent playtime, as it seems like there are not too much variety during the month of May. All of the bigger fish come later in the summer.

I wrote down the date I stopped playing so I wouldn't have to go through the stomp out the roaches nonsense. I figured it would be a couple of months but it's been a couple of years too and I lost the date so...

The roach stomping wasn't too bad. I expanded my storage to the new limit of 5,000 and was easily able to remove stored stuff all around the floors of my house and stash spots on the island. This made roach crushing much easier. I'm enjoying making some small changes to my island decorations with the stuff they added during my hiatus.

I never went back after I lost all my data when I transferred to an OLED Switch. It was a fun two year run though.

This game still needs these quality of life changes:

1. The ability to craft more than one of a particular item at the same time.
2. The ability to lock down decorations to where you need to do one extra button push to avoid picking them up by accident.
3. The drop box to give you better pay for items.
*The load times going in and out to sell and the closing time make it difficult to collect and sell throughout the night

I'm having a good time with it.

I still play it from time to time. I wish Nintendo would continue to update the game. There's really nothing to do now.

Boy time really flies, I guess I need to go check on my villagers too and see how long it has been.

I've actually renovated part of my house to have a fully functioning kitchen and have enjoyed growing my own produce and making many of the new recipes in my kitchen. My son and I have also enjoyed collecting the gyroids. We have about 200 of them so far.

This is for Android, right? I've never played it but I may get the ten dollar version, it looks like a lot of content and since Disney Sorcerer's Arena shut down I haven't found a mobile game to pass the time while I wait places.

Since it's still available for five days or so f2p just downloaded it to try it out.

Really loved the game but I don't think I'd pay more money for whatever slight upgrade it gets for S2.

It's only $5, but feels like it should still be free for Nintendo Online Expansion members.

I'm shocked it's only 5 bucks. I figured at least $29.99.

You thought an AI upscale to 4k (still running at 30fps) and mouse control compatibility would cost $30?

Hmm, I'm happy they are not totally forgetting AC, but I don't think this content will draw me back into it much. Certainly not the time sink it was for a LONG time.

Another way to sell more Amibos. (I'm not getting those)

I'll give it a whirl though, been a long time since I've fired up my island.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20, Switch; 1/15/26, Switch 2)

I bought and never played the first one, so this is my sign that there will be enough time to put a playthrough in before AC Switch 2. I've gotten hooked on playing the S2 on the big TV (49 inches, 4k), so I'll start it up when the update comes.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20, Switch; 1/15/26, Switch 2)

There's no such thing as a "playthrough' in this game. You just keep playing it.

Goldberg74 11-01-25 06:32 AM

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3/20/20, Switch; 1/15/26, Switch 2)

Yeah, this is the game that never ends… but you can try to get the biggest house, get all terra forming abilities, collect every bug, fish, sea creature, fossil, flower, art piece, and totem… try to get every possible item from the catalog, type of clothing, villager… ugh.

And since it’s all season and time based… it’s gonna take you longer than the next few months.

But it’s a wonderful ride!

(I had almost 600 hours of playtime in the first three years. Like many, this game got me through the pandemic.)

With it coming from Nintendo yes, I did.

I got it on day one of its release and I have over 1,300 hours played.
