The breakable weapons thing doesn't bother me nearly as much as not being able to climb while it's raining.
Seriously - what does that add?
I just sit there, wait out the rain, then continue climbing. Such a dumb mechanic.

IMO stamina based climbing as a whole is dumb.

Not a fan of that either, but I kinda get it, as you may need to be at a higher level (have more stamina) before you get to a particular location.
What I don't get is the slippery when wet climbing, since you just have to wait that out.

They should have at least had a recipe/armor that would negate that. I don't mind the rain and it adds a lot of really cool environmental changes but having it be right when you're in the middle of mountains or exploring is a PITA. Also having fire being the only time adjusting mechanic. At least give me my ocarina so I can change the time of day if it's raining.

The game is confirmed to have leaked this morning... so if you want to avoid any spoilers, limit your social media use for the next two weeks.

Long video but great watch to refresh before launch. Great channel to follow if you're a Zelda fan.

Do you have Nintendo Online? If so you can buy two digital vouchers for $100 and get both this game and Pikmin 4 for $100 rather than the $130 (+ tax) it would cost to buy both games in physical editions. You can save an additional $10 by buying the $100 Nintendo eShop credit at Costco.

I don't think so. Because it's tied to one account and once you buy the game on your account, it's shown as Purchased.

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch; 5/12/23)
I don't have nintendo online, so that's out.
I don't really buy physical games anymore, but since I have the last Zelda in it's own holder, with room for one more cart, I might get this one to keep it company.
Though if I run into any trouble nabbing one on Friday, I'll definitely download it - and I think I'll save $5 in sales tax if I download as well. I don't think downloading games charges sales-tax.

You do get charged local taxes on digital purchases. Not sure if that's true for every state but it is for MA. I get taxed on digital game purchases.

And slop, even if you don't have the Nintendo Online, you can still save some money by buying $50 in eShop credit for $45 at Costco.com if you're a member.
Also consider buying a year of Nintendo Online if you want any other first party game. Because it's $20 for a year and that voucher will get you Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for $50 instead of $70, That pays for the year of the service right there. If you wanted Pikmin 4 or anything else, you'd get it for $50 instead of $60 and you still come out ahead.

Like, I'll get $100 of credit, and then a game will be, say, $60, and I'll still have $40 of that credit left. So I assume there's no tax involved in there.
Maybe if I bought the game directly, instead of using the saved up credit I might get taxed, I'm not sure.

^ The game is $70. First one at that price for the Switch.
Also, no sales tax on digital purchases in CA either.

Sounds like the combining of items is a PITA, especially if you are in some sort of battle.

Grrrr, Best Buy gave me a tracking number but says it won't ship until tomorrow. Hopefully that's not accurate. Or maybe it would be better if it were accurate, so I could get more done over the next few days.

I’ve got in-store pick up (it’s less than 10 minutes from my house).
