Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

i guess jumping on the Sony bandwagon paid off. my XBSX is just collecting dust now. that'll change though with Dead Space remake this week. most multi-platformers i will get for XBSX.

Why?

I switched most of my cross platform buying back to sony for one simple reason: storage was much cheaper. Otherwise I don't see much of an advantage for either side.

i dunno. a friend of mine who knows about a lot of things console and pc said Sony was better for the exclusives, but to buy cross platform games for Xbox.

It all depends on which interface, controller and eco-system you prefer.

But what was his reasoning?

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

For me I always go PS5 for the force feedback of the Dual Sense controllers which I really like and the first party 3D headphones which I find way better than the Xbox one. The XSX does a much better job with quick resume though.
Used to be I could get better deal on Xbox virtual currency but now it's the same 10% off on each platform so that's a wash.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Yeah, I guess it’s not sound reasoning. If I get him to explain more, I’ll let you know, but I guess I’m just used to Xbox more and do like and find the menus much easier to navigate. That’s by a long shot. Otherwise, I guess I have no real reason. He seemed to think it was more powerful or something. Better processors. I dunno.

^^ Sounds like he just has a preference. I'd challenge anyone to tell the difference between games without a side by side comparison of the exact same scene in front of them. You either like the UI of the system and the controller or you don't. I prefer the Xbox controller over the Dual Sense... but Sony has some amazing exclusives.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I know more people with an Xbox and the Game Pass library is a better deal than the PS equivalent. I also prefer the Xbox controller for FPS.

I find PlayStation has vastly superior exclusives.

Both of them need to redo their interfaces.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

On a similar note, anyone found a way to exclude games from Quick Resume? It often breaks online titles like Fall Guys and CoD:WZ/DMZ and is kinda tedious if I forget to just hit start and quit the game manually each time.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I think going to the main menu, go down to Quick Resume, highlight game and hit one of the buttons and you can delete the game from QR, I believe.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

The only surefire way I'm aware of is, once you're done playing a game, go back to your home screen, highlight the game, then use the menu button on your controller to close the game out. But you have to do that every time, as I don't think there's a setting to block a specific game from ever using QR.

Also, if a game is already in QR, you have to do what OB said above. Yes, I know, OB provided an answer. Please give us all some privacy as we work through these troubling times.

this was his verbatim response…

”Xbox will have slightly faster load times. It’s the most powerful console horsepower wise. Like only a second or two faster load times though. Quick resume. Easy Compatibility into the next console with saves intact. The games will just be better on Xbox but you wouldn’t even notice the difference.”

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Anyone have trouble with remote downloads? My system keeps unchecking the remote option so I can’t download from pc or phone. I don’t understand how it could keep going off.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

finally got to see the short Dev Direct Conference from the other day....not bad but for me the Redfall and Elder Scrolls presentation stood out. Been with ESO for years on & off....if you craft and do multiple characters ESO Plus is almost a must, another monthly sub......As with all Elder Scrolls Cinematic Presentations, this was rock solid.....I liked Redfall day one I saw it, but the release date comes about 2.5 weeks after Dead Island 2 which will probably do really good. Be interesting on the much larger showcase that's rumored to be in March.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I cannot overstate how much my kid is looking forward to Minecraft Legends.

Arkane hasn't disappointed me yet, so Redfall should be fun, especially because multiplayer isn't mandatory

Couldn't care less about Forza Motorsport. I'm only into Horizon

Hi-Fi Rush is the last thing I'd have expected from Tango. I'll give it a shot. I doubt it has a 120fps mode, but I can dream.

Will Redfall have Fallout's game mechanics? I see that Bethesda is releasing it.

Nope. Found on reddit... ignore the red text, but the red arrows are correct.

Redfall is an Arkane game, not a BGS game.

Xbox controller is better. Not because of the vibration thing, it's a joke on Xbox. Mainly it feels better. At least to me. Plus I like achievements better than trophies. At least they mean something and you can do something with them. Plus Gamepass is king. I'd also rather have a storage solution I can just disconnect without having to take off the covers and stand and unscrew the port.

Yeah, I know I kinda went beyond your question but still. Sony rules as far as first party titles go. But other than God of War, lately my PS5 hasn't seen much use.

From what I've seen...not really and frankly this looks to be a bit of different "Left4Dead" typical Zombie Hunt, Kill, Survive game we've seen before. I can't put my finger on just what it can relate to but it does look fun especially co-op....from a few days ago....

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

i came up on a story over at Dualshockers that was a bit of sad news about The Unreal Tournament Series was being taken out of stores (Steam and Epic)....I remember these along with Quake being THE IT Games in their heyday and there are a lot of PC gamers out there mad & sad over this....BUT....
I was searching for any Unreal Games out there still around and saw this video of someone playing the Unreal Tournament 3 for XBox 360 on XBox Series X....anyone fans of the Gears of War might give it a go...a lot of similarities. It doesn't look half back for a 13yr old game on XBox Series .....sadly not available for PS5....
