The Series OS is not 200 GB, its around 100GB, the other 100 is because of the formatting of the SSD which is normal for all "hard" drives ever made, including the PS5.

After formatting and the OS/system files:

The Series X has 802GB.

The PS5 has 664GB

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I think both systems have all but eliminated the weird way that games were patched this gen, where you needed basically space for the game to copy itself over and then the patch. So at least that''ll save some space. But a reminder that your external regular drive is only going to be able to play PS4 games, not PS5 games (it can only store them).

Well I didn't say it merited a party, but to clarify any confusion I only meant it seemed like a good thing that they are shipping accessories early. Sheesh.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I remember PS3 allowed the option to auto launch into the game completely bypassing the U.I.

I hope PS5 will bring that back. I'm guessing they won't though cause they want you to see their ads

PS4 still does that if you've suspended a game and gone into rest mode.

Yep that is how I play all my games. I suspend them and I never even see the UI unless its time to play a new game.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Same. I always use the rest mode. I only play a single game at a time so suspend mode is great. I never see the menu until I finally play something else.

Hopefully Sony has something up their sleeve like the suspend on XSX.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Been wanting to pick up a PS4 to play The Last of Us and Spider-Man. Of course the pandemic drove up prices and limited availability. Any thoughts on how soon after the PS5 release I might be able to afford and find a PS4? (Yes, used.)

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I tried to buy a couple about 6 weeks back and, yeah, new and used the PS4 is hard to find. I couldn't find any used at Gamestop or new at all but one retailer. Do you have a GameXchange near you? Mine had a few the other day when I was there.

A bit! I think this is the least excited I've been for a new gen to start, but part of that might just be that it doesn't feel real yet...? The mid-gen refreshes kinda spoiled things for me because my XB1X and PS4 Pro don't feel like they're old and creaky the way other consoles have at the end of their lifespans.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm ready to get slayed again and again in Demons Souls and play the new Spiderman. Cyberpunk will also be a nice addition. My son wants Sackboy and I will likely get it for him.

I'm still on my launch PS4 (wasn't down with a 1/2 gen step purchase) so I've been ready.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

With the confirmation that there's only a handful of PS4 games not playable on the PS5, I'll be picking one up much sooner than I initially planned. The digital at $400 is a fine price.

Abob, I have an Uncharted 4 version, 500gig, with a single controller that I'd be willing to let go once I get a PS5. If that's up your alley, I'll message you. It'll still probably be a few months or so, depending on PS5 availability.
