I would assume that Spider-Man 3 will be a PS6 release then?

It's a drag to see Ratchet and Clank so far out, but I'll take what I can get! Very intrigued by a full-fledged X-Men game, if it happens. When you're talking about a game seven years out, anything can happen.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Doesn't surprise me that the Venom game in 2025 is so close to the rest. Like Miles Morales, it'll be a smaller game, probably using the same mechanics, maps, game play, etc. as Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man (Q3 2018) : SM: Miles Morales (Q4 2020) :: Spider-Man 2 (Q4 2023) : SM: Venom (Q? 2025)

Either way, if it's engaging, I'll take it.

Apparently the leak is from them/Sony being hacked...

I did not realize that earlier; I thought this was a typical 'leak' and not a full-fledged hack on the company, with private employee info released. Pretty messed up.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, I just heard about this hack myself. Really sucks.

Unsurprisingly, IGN only focuses on the games leaked. I think equal time should have been spent on the breach of privacy of the employees.

I like this video better, because they acknowledge from the start that this situation is more than just about leaked games info.

Ugh, Venom was the least interesting thing about Spider-man 2. I'd rather have a SpiderGwen spinoff. I'd also rather see Ratchet sooner.

Me too, but one bit of information in the leak was that Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart was a huge disappointment financially, only sold 2.2 million copies and lost a lot of money.

Though others are saying it sold 2.7M copies and made a profit.

The original article updated to say it was wrong and hit 2.3m sales as of Feb 2022. I hear it didn't sell well on PC though.

That's not it. The PS5 has certainly outsold the XSX, but most feel that "console wars" is a silly and outdated term. There should be room for both PS5s and XSXs in gaming.

Yeah there is enough of that in the movie forum where 90% of the discussion is on box office numbers instead of just enjoying films we don't need that nonsense in the videogame forum also.

Point taken. Post deleted. I honestly had no idea that’s a topic that no one here cares about it.

Apologies about the dumb and outdated term.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Anecdotally, I think that the information on sales and numbers of consoles are good to see as a general comparison, but to the right people they are meaningful and give direction to trends... and yeah, we are such a small insignificant slice of gamers, we'll never agree but to disagree.

If numbers really mattered, the Power-washing Game would have been replaced with a Scrub Daddy® game a long time ago.

False alarm. Items won't be deleted.

Whew!! Armageddon averted. All those PS5 purchasers of Dr. Pimple Popper and My 600 Ib life can breathe a sigh of relief.

To be fair, the new deal is for 30 months. After that, the purchases will still be seemingly gone.

Armageddon averted......temporarily.

I could care less about Discovery content on the PS ecosystem. All that shit can be watched on Max.

But, it sucks for anyone who invested good money in it.

I agree.
I mean, ultimately, this whole thing affects a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of people. I just can't imagine there's a huge number of people who bought digital video content on the PlayStation store no less, and specifically Discovery TV content at that. That's probably why it's being delisted to begin with... nobody's buying it, and sadly, delisting stuff is not uncommon. But going so far as taking delisted shows away from people who did pay for it is what's far, far less common in these digital landscapes. Every other case I've seen regarding delisted titles, those people who did pay for it could still access it. The only exceptions are the rare cases where content was delisted due to copyright infringement on behalf of the company/person who uploaded it to the service to begin with. In those cases, people were refunded by the platform (ie: Amazon), because they didn't know they bought something that was sold illegally. Ultimately, IMHO, if Warner/Discovery doesn't want people to watch the titles they purchased on the PlayStation store, then those people should be refunded.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The PS5 I ordered from Amazon back in 12/2 finally shipped yesterday. Of course, despite the fact that all the other Amazon deliveries I've received from Amazon lately (including a bottle of mouthwash that arrived tonight) have been through UPS, they chose to ship the PlayStation 5 through USPS.

USPS claims it'll be delivered on the 26th, but from past experience, it'll likely arrive at my local post office a few days before that and they'll just sit on it for a few days longer.

Even if it affects a relatively small number of people it's a reminder that you don't actually own any of this digital content, and they have the wording to reflect that.
