It’s breathtaking. Hard to even describe. At the beginning when that Tall Neck walks over you—whoa. At one point I was at the edge of a cliff and had to push the see your surroundings button it was so dizzying (forgot how to back up).

Pistol Whip is fantastic in a different way—SO incredibly fun and fast paced. Cannot recommend that game enough. You have to dodge bullets and pillars, but I’ve seen too many videos of people playing VR that crash into their big TV so I’m afraid to move around too much.

I would say the VR2 is worth every penny and has well exceeded my expectations. And yeah playing regular games with it is incredible too. Just wow…

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Okay, I've never been sold on VR and felt like (at least the things I've tried) it's not quite there for AAA gaming yet. Nothing but a novelty. A friend of mine bought the PSVR2 and we tried a few things last night and wow. I was sitting there wondering where and how fast I could get my hands on $600. It was that good.

Horizon was just gorgeous and awesome. I loved using the bow. I didn't have any motion issues with the climbing but I can see it being an issue for some. The only thing I could think was I hope Crystal Dynamics is working on some kind of Tomb Raider VR game (doubtful).

Kayak was damn gorgeous. No Man's Sky looked cool but I'd rather be sitting in an X-Wing. NFL Pro was interesting but not something I'd buy. There was one other game he bought, a FPS game. I didn't try it but it looked pretty cool.

So yeah, I want one.

Saw this over at PushSquare and sounds and looks interesting for those who have or getting the PSVR2 especially later when it implements Unreal 5.... Firewall Ultra uses Unreal Engine 5 to evolve the VR shooter franchise on PlayStation®VR2 - Unreal Engine

In the meantime seems another game or at least to the writer "HOPES"...will be a remaster.... Dragon Age: Origins Writer Thinks It's Time For 'PS5-Era Bells and Whistles' Remaster | Push Square

I asked at Gamestop last week, and according to the Manager someone said on their internal message system that the VR2 was a Sony store exclusive for a year. That seems too long to me. I would think they would want to expand the user base as fast as possible, and I don't believe that will happen with Sony as the only retailer.

He said they have nothing in the system for the PSVR 2 hardware yet so hopefully they will add a preowned SKU at some point.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm really struggling to not get sick when I play the VR2... it's so disorienting. Granted, I've only played Horizon and when I turn, that just messes up my stomach. Maybe other games won't impact me as much? I did try playing while sitting but that didn't help all that much.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm glad I held off from pre-ordering. If others are having motion sickness issues, 100% I would as well. If I could change literally anything about my life, it would be to stop having insane motion sickness my whole life. I had to refund the newest CoD on Steam. Couldn't make it past 2 hours even with their accessibility options turned on. Still also can't fly, be a passenger in a car for more than 10-15 minutes, boats...etc.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yikes, I'm not even remotely close to those types of issues so, yeah, you might really struggle with this. I had a similar problem playing The Walking Dead game on my Quest 2... seems like FPS games mess with me the most. Playing bowling or baseball was no issue though.

Yeah, Noonan I think you are in for a world of hurt if you get into VR.

The golf and table tennis games I play are fine, but FPS or any games where you are moving around fuck me up as well, some tips I have heard are to start with shorter sessions and work your way up and to have a fan on you.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, that's why I never tried. Whichever CoD Black Ops which came out during Wii U life had a short part where you were dragging someone out of water (or something similar). I had to do that party looking away from my TV. Even the short few minutes it lasted was enough to make the room spin.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

All previews I read before release said that the motion sickness should be virtually eliminated from the PSVR 2 due to it's screen quality. Disappointing to hear that's not the case.

That makes zero sense to me. If you can get motion sickness playing a non-VR FPS, why couldn't you on any VR system regardless of screen quality?

I believe they meant for "normal" folks who don't get sick playing on a TV. AKA...not me.

Not just you, lots of people get motion sickness from FPS.
I have mostly avoided the feeling, but got a little on the Quest 2 when playing The Climb 2. So I can totally see people feeling that way when playing Horizon, which is also largely climbing a mountain in VR.

Low frame rate and latency issues are two major causes of motion sickness in VR games.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I thought that VR would give me a headache from wearing the visor. I didn't even consider motion sick. I'm glad I didn't buy one. I might try it out if there's a demo set up somewhere or a friend lets me try theirs out, but I didn't feel to need to buy it.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I would assume as graphical fidelity improves it would make motion sickness worse.

I just found out you can use PS+ to play some games on the PC. It's supposed to give me a free trial but no cigar.
