Any word on when this will be available at any retailer other than Sony? I have those gift cards at Game Stop and want to use them on this rather than a bunch of games.

I'm looking forward to this. I do hope they get more unique content than what's available on the Quest 2 but I'm sure that's a no-brainer. I can only imagine what a game like Hogwarts would be like on this system.

Tested just posted a video review of the hardware. I plan on checking it out later.

I haven't found a place yet where one can buy a physical PSVR2 release. Any of you? I have a ton of Gamestop credit I was saving for those games in particular. I hope they're not all going to be software delivery only.

For those who might be wondering about what the video settings for some games might be, this list....doesn't have several of the latest....has pretty much alot with what settings the game offers.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
That was a feature I really liked about the original PSVR, even though the picture quality was downgraded significantly; it was still neat! Worked for movies, too.
So if PSVR2 can do that with, say, the PLEX app, that would be pretty awesome.
edit: oh.
This makes sense from a hardware/logistical perspective. Still, I kind of hoped the resolution would be a bit higher. They go on to say,

In Cinematic Mode, content is only displayed at 1920×1080, but with OLED power, more pixels per eye, HDR, and 120Hz frame rates
it feels a lot more than that. Again, if your TV doesn't have that kind of refresh rate, this is another huge benefit of playing non-VR games in Cinematic Mode. Both Returnal and God of War looked absolutely stunning with the headset on - as though they were displayed on one of the best PS5 monitors. Contrasts levels were jaw-dropping, and since it was right in front of me, I got to appreciate so many tiny details I hadn't picked up on before.
For folks who live with a significant other or flat mates that are always pining for use of your TV, PSVR 2's cinematic mode could be life-changing. You can willingly yield a communal space's TV without having to give up your gaming time.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I have to say that the Plus Extra tier has been well worth the money I invested in it last weekend. I'm enjoying so many of the smaller studio games that last between 2 and 5 hours. A bunch of those games I wouldn't have paid 15 plus for, but this service allows me to play and finish them. Some notables are: Last Day of June, Omno, Lost Word: Beyond the Page, The Gardens Between, and The Artful Escape. Some pretty good stories in those titles. It feels nice to actually start a game and see it all the way through. That is something that I haven't done in awhile with the bigger studio games, as they are becoming an arduous task due to their length while challenging my attention span.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I finally got a tracking number for the PSVR2! This is the most excited I've been about a hardware launch in...I truly don't even know how long. Maybe ever? Which seems ridiculous for something that, for all I know, I might not wind up enjoying at all or may not having any staying power for me. But in this moment, I'm absolutely over the moon.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
This sounds pretty amazing ("Cinematic Mode is, without doubt, my favorite thing about PSVR 2 so far. If you don't have a great selection of VR games to experience, Cinematic Mode allows you to experience the best PS5 games in a totally new way, without any distractions to take you out of them"), and I'm really looking forward to trying it. I'm curious exactly how it works. Right now my PS5 output runs to my receiver. When I plug the VR2 into the front USB-C, will it select that output automatically? Really cannot wait--mine arrives tomorrow.

I'm sure this is common knowledge and probably applicable for those of you that ordered the PSVR2... but you'll need to sign for the delivery tomorrow. At least that's what I read in the email I just got.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
The crazy thing is that once you get the headset configured, you don't even need to have the PS5 connected to a TV; you can use PSVR2 as a standalone display. My understanding is that for Cinematic Mode specifically, it exclusively uses the headset; it won't pass video or audio to your primary display. VR games will still have that social screen mode where other folks in the room can see what you're doing.

Ya I’m really excited to get it tomorrow. I’ve never tried any of the vr headsets so this experience will be brand new for me.

I'm curious what your thoughts will be. I jumped into VR back during the Oculus Kickstarter and with cardboard phone viewers (and well the virtual boy). It's so so so much better now.
