From what I read I can't even preorder it from GS until the system launches. I don't need it at launch, but if I don't grab the preorder now it might be a long long wait. I don't know...

I would recommend playing the PS4 games that you're currently playing to the SSD and then move them to storage drive when you're done. They do load faster and will save you time waiting for them to load.

yeah, that’s what I plan on doing. I got the space and only play one game at a time mostly, so no storage issues and even if it’s moderately faster, that can’t be a bad thing.

Is there a particular reason and correct me if I’m wrong, but why is no PS exclusive a FPS? It’s a huge genre and I don’t believe they have a one.

They had one the last two generations - Resistance. Made by the same studio that does Ratchet and Clank and Marvel's Spider-Man. I would love it if they brought the Franchise back.


I guess they feel that there are so many third-party FPS games that they don't need their own any more. Plus they usually negotiate some sort of exclusive with Call of Duty (like a map or something) -- though obviously that would change if MS bought the company. And maybe the Resistance games didn't sell well.
Nintendo hasn't had a first-party FPS since Metroid Prime ages ago, and MS only has Halo.

I thought of Resistance’s spiky fire grenades when the topic of favorite weapon came up. I bought the three-pack but not sure I ever got to #3.

Killzone was their most enduring shooter franchise, but there hasn't been a new entry in that since the PS4 launched. Aside from Killzone and Resistance, there were also MAG on the PS3 and RIGS on the PSVR.

But yeah, I think they just decided it'd be easier to moneyhat Call of Duty, which is why they're so pissed about the Microsoft/Activision deal.

When PS4 came out I got Infamous: Second Son, Battlefield and Killzone: Shadowfall....Infamous was just fun and the lighting 9a night) was a sight. I really had fun with Killzone but could not understand the mixed reviews; story, action, combat, maps top notch to me..The Killzone site got shutdown back in 2013 and last heard Guerilla Games and Sony had no plans for another.

Frankly to me there is a void in FPS Shooters right now with basically destiny, COD and battlefield being it. Seems like Devs and Sony has focused on "Hack & Slash" with Bloodborne, God of War, Horizon, Demon Souls, Final Fantasy, some Story/RPGs in Uncharted and Last of Us,....aa cartoonish Ratchet and Clank and a marvel Spiderman....there is no real FPS in the mix.

When I had the XBox 360 which many say was the best and really propelled the Video Game generation, Halo and Gears of War were the cornerstones and since then, nothing has come close. I have no idea why Microsoft let both go downhill but neither has come close for years to what they were. Sony should've hired Cliffy B as a consultant and said..."We want something like Gears of War"....

This video...from three years ago...nails it not just on Killzone but Sony's approach to the style of games they want and apparently Killzone Style games are not it....

They also had one of the very first squad based team shooters as an exclusive back in the PS2 days called SOCOM, and sold an adapter for the system so that you could play the game online (the system didn't have an ether net port, at least the original PS2 did not) . I don't think they have made a SOCOM game since the launch of the PSP.

I don't this so. Killzone Shadowfall and Killzone Shadowfall Intercept are both available for free with PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, and Resistance 3 is available to stream for PS Plus Premium members.

I seem to be having audio issues only with this console and most games with dialogue. If the character is off camera, I can barely hear and have to read subtitles, which is tough to do when running for life.

But, even in game, if I’m not facing a character their voice is very low. When I turn to face them, back to normal sounding. Every game I check volume and make sure it’s maxed.

Is there a setting on console that I may have overlooked and need to change? Thanks in advance.

I changed both settings on console. First to tv, then to sound bar and no affect.

Turn it up to 11.

Try unplugging your connections and plugging them back in. If that doesn't work. Unplug or turn your sound bar off and back on again. See if that works.
