Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I only ever leave it in rest mode if it's already in the process of downloading/installing something and I'm done with the console - I'll just leave it in rest-mode so it can finish the download/install (or if I'm charging the controller). Otherwise, yeah, I just turn it off.

I always keep mine in rest mode but I also have it plugged into a hefty UPS/Surge Protector.

Almost always a full turn off as I only play it once a week or two.

I haven't played in more than a year, but when I did play regularly, it was always in rest mode.

I turn it off simply because I don’t want to see that orange light while I’m watching a movie in the dark.

I guess I should get me one of those surge protectors. Not every power strip has a surge protector built in?

You should have all of your angled components on a surge protector.

I think most are. PC as well (big hulking power square with cable input as well). But I know PS5 is just on a power strip with some other incidentals.

Problem is I don’t think all the cords will reach unless they’re straightened out.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

As much as I think Monster cables are bullshit, their power centers and surge protectors are great. I have my gear connected to an older power center but that thing has metal/steel components. I paid like $150 for it many years ago. You can see what they have on Amazon..

Here's one of them for example:

I have that Belkin as well. It's a good one. Just make sure you don't go and plug extension cords into the surge protector, Oldboy.

I just noticed that the Playstation page is accepting preorder registrations again for the VR2 for Dec 6th preorders.

What is "this"? The VR2?

The big one is going to be a Horizon game in VR.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Oh yeah? No way I’m shelling out for that. What $600 total with tax for just the equipment? No. I have enough games exclusives what have you to last me a good 10 years (on just this system alone) 😂.
