Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I signed up for an invitation with Amazon for PS5 Ragnarok digital console. Am I able to give it to someone else or is it only linked to my Amazon account? It stays active for 72 hours from now. Because if someone here wanted one I can give.

Seems to be a secret but at least three years.

I almost went ahead and bought a year of Essential, but I’m going to wait to see what CD Keys has on sale for Black Friday.

Makes sense. The PSN deal will last over a week and won't run out.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Despite my earlier claims of not doing it, I ended up bumping my PS+ to the Premium. I'm glad I did. I'm playing some of the bigger games recently released, while playing some of the much smaller or older games when I just want to kill a little bit of time without jumping into the bigger game. I guess congrats to Sony for scoring more money out of me.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Just put in an order for a Disc Console only version from the Playstation store, along with Horizon Forbidden West and Spider-Man:MM.

I have an Xbox Series X that's about a year old, and this is the first time I've owned both a Playstation and Xbox since the original generations. Mostly been an Xbox guy, but titles like Horizon and Spider-Man seem pretty awesome, and it'll be nice to jump back into the PS world (are they EVER going to make another Twisted Metal game btw???) Just hope there's no buyer's remorse if I still end up using one console more than the other.

Welcome to the PS5 club! I recommend playing Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man first if you haven't played them already. I love my PS5 and I think you'll really enjoy it.

As far as I can tell there's no hard and fast cut off like MS. (At least there wasn't before this new overhaul of the PS Plus subscription model took effect this Summer). However once when I really stocked up on annual codes one Thanksgiving weekend, I extended it past the "breaking point" and the last code never registered and I lost the credit (they told me to wait for it to expire and it would then work -- it didn't, and years later I didn't have the code any more. So go three years or so, but don't overdo it or you might get screwed.

Gotcha. $90 was too hard to pass up for Premium.

No that's 25% off. You must have got a prorated deal since you just signed up recently.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Did you read up on what Premium has? If you only want to play the last two generations of games (PS4 and PS5), Extra should be enough, premium basically allows you to play PS3/PSP/PS2/PS1 games in their catalog. There is a ton of value there for people who don't already own those games, and it diminishes the more you own or have already accumulated through PS Plus essential over the years.

this is my first first so they are all new to me, but I like the fact I can play those older generation games. Just got to figure out how to see list of titles.

I think that's 25% off essential but the other two you listed seem to be regular price?

25% off should be:
Essential: 44.99 (59.99)
Extra: 74.99 (99.99)
Premium: 89.99 (119.99)

If you upgrade, you will get a prorated charge for the remainder of your account, so it might be cheaper. I don't think you can downgrade. You can upgrade (prorated) and extend at the higher tier though.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, it said 25% off the $119 price to bring it to $90.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I see what the problem is. They are only offering me 25% off prorated for the next 53 day to upgrade my current Essential subscription to Premium or Extra and then charging me regular price. That's why I'm not seeing the discounted prices for Extra and Premium. I'm only seeing the discount for Essential. That's a weird way of showing me their prices.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Can someone tell me if the Sony media remote is infrared or Bluetooth? I want to be able to map it to my universal remote which is infrared. Thx.

edit…I guess it’s BT so I guess I can’t use my universal remote to program the Sony media remote. Oh well.

It's controls the console via Bluetooth. It has an IR transmitter, but that's only so that you can also control your TV's volume and such.

I'm pretty sure if you take that upgrade, you can then buy another year of the upgraded service at the discounted price if you do it right away.. What it's saying is that if you just take the prorated upgrade and leave it, you'll renew at the regular price.

Is there a way to organize games on home page?
