It's not at a point where you can walk into a Target and expect to see a big stack of PS5s, for sure, but it's really not too bad anymore if you're willing to order online. Sony had them on their website late this afternoon, for instance. No queues, no hassle, no crazy bundles, just click-and-go.

Yeah, pretty attainable if you try. I've seen a ton of bundles in stock at Costco though.

Frankly, consoles rarely ever seem to sit on shelves around where I am.

Saw on my Twitter feed that the PS5 "Elite Controller" goes up for pre-order on October 25th and will be available in January.... for $200!!! Yikes.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I moved my PS5 to my basement, next to my X1X and my wife had never seen it before (or never paid attention). She saw it and said "Oh no, dad's Xbox melted!" lol.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

That Dual Edge controller looks nice but not $200 nice. Might pick one up on Black Friday 2023 or State of Play 2024 when it goes on sale.
Wonder what the ability to swap out the stick mechanisms allows you to do.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I mean if you had some kind of instant replacement warranty on a $200 controller I'd be tempted. But my experience with the elite has been mediocre and for something that seems to wear out I'm not sure it's worth it to spend for the upgrade (I guess unless you're a really high performance player which I definitely am not)

Hard pass. Zero interest. I have never had an issue with the current controllers and would not spend $200 for an "elite" model.

The price of Best Buy's "Total Tech Protection" has scared most people off, but for me it's been totally worth it. I buy all my tech stuff there now (price-matching when appropriate) and have zero issues about trading in and upgrading anything I have bought. Already used it to swap out and upgrade my Galaxy Watch (which cracked its screen with just normal use) and swapped from a Logitech Keyboard case for iPad Pro to the Apple model as I just didn't like how the Logitech one performed.
That sort of ability to cover all your earbuds and headphones and cell phones and controllers makes the $200/yr price kind of worth it. Plus free installation of my TV and stereo which would have been more than $200 alone.

Under normal gaming circumstances, I get it. I play Rainbow 6 Siege a lot... and having that hair trigger is crucial. Once you have it, you'll never go back. So it's awesome for FPS games. But not $200 awesome.

That does sound cool but I feel like there's a YMMV caveat there where this is inconsistently done by different stores. Sounds like you have a good one though!

Has anyone played Spiritfarer? I saw Wario64 post on Twitter that it was on sale at Best Buy and Amazon for $9.99 and I ordered a physical copy of it.

I have it on the Switch - I've enjoyed what I played of it. Got it a while back and then got distracted by some other shiny thing. But I recall that it was really good. Need to get back to it - maybe start over.

Same here, I liked what I played of it but fell off of it before finishing. But that is true of me with most games.

Greetings, mercenaries! We at Smilegate are thrilled to announce that we are working on a brand-new VR game called Crossfire: Sierra Squad! The first-person shooter incorporates innovative features offered by PS VR2, and is planned to launch on PS VR2 in 2023.

Soon you'll be able to drop into the world of Crossfire in full VR, taking the fight to dimensions yet unseen! A battle-focused shooter, Crossfire: Sierra Squad will have you fighting a seemingly endless enemy force with high AI intelligence. It's a fast-paced, easy to learn FPS. The Light Brigade | Developer: Funktronic Labs

From the minds at Funktronic Labs comes a new single player roguelike experience filled with immersive gunplay and moody mystery.

The world lies in ruins and with each passing day the light grows dimmer. Only you can offer the world a glimmer of hope.

As the last line of defense against the darkness, you will enlist in the ranks of the Light Brigade and journey into the Sunken World as many times as it takes. Pieced together from shattered memories, these procedurally-generated battlegrounds are filled with enemies lurking around every corner. You will be forced to strategically navigate through dense forests, frozen mountains, and forgotten graveyards with a steady rifle and light magic to keep the shadows at bay.

Cosmonious High | Developer: Owlchemy Labs

From the creators of popular and award winning titles Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator, comes an original creation—the comically catastrophic Cosmonious High!

In this single player alien adventure players take on the role of a Prismi, a rare alien species that can adapt to any situation. Upon crash-landing into the school players find that it is alive with delightful characters, but plagued by mysterious malfunctions. Players will unlock powers to help restore Cosmonious High to its former glory.

Together with Steel Wool Studios, we're bringing you the most immersive Hello Neighbor experience yet using virtual reality in the all-new Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, coming to PlayStation VR2 & VR!

Jurassic World Aftermath Collection | Developer: Coatsink

Working with dinosaurs has been a dream come true for the team at Coatsink. Jurassic World Aftermath Collection is a passion project for many of us and we are so excited to be bringing it to PlayStation VR2 in 2023!

This reworked version of the popular survival adventure game combines both Part 1 and Part 2 into one complete collection. Set between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, players crash land on the familiar Isla Nublar and find themselves trapped in an abandoned research facility.

Pistol Whip VR

Pistol Whip is an award-winning physical action-rhythm game where thrilling gunplay and dynamic tracks collide, creating a dreamscape world for players to blast, duck, and dodge their way through to become the ultimate action hero.

An enhanced version of the game will introduce more depth and dimension to the blood-pumping action with headset feedback and haptic feedback, finger touch detection, and seriously boosted loading speed.

Zenith: The Last City | Developer: Ramen VR

Hey there, it's Kristani from Ramen VR. I'm excited to share Zenith: The Last City is coming to PlayStation VR2 as a first day launch title! The team is constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible, so I promise you this is not the same Zenith since launch. We added hundreds of hours of new content, made massive graphics updates, and leveraged the PS VR2 features to bring you a truly next level experience of Zenith's gorgeous open-world.

After The Fall | Developer: Vertigo Games

After the Fall, an intense co-op shooter set in a post-apocalyptic version of Los Angeles is coming in 2023 to PS VR2!

Team up with three others after setting out from a survivor camp that is shared with up to 32 players at a time. Or, if you prefer to head out into the city's solo and take on the hordes of mutants or towering bosses by yourself, that's an option too. We're taking advantage of the new PS VR2 features, adding a new level of immersion to After the Fall's signature gunplay through the PS VR2 Sense Controller.. Every slide you rack and magazine you release can now be felt throughout your entire hands through haptic feedback, while each gun now mimics its real-life counterpart in trigger pull weight using dynamic use of adaptive triggers.

Tentacular | Developer: Firepunchd Games UG

Hello PlayStation fans! I'm excited to reveal Tentacular, our charming VR game about a gigantic but good-hearted tentacled beast trying to figure out its place in the world, will wriggle its way into your heart for PS VR2!

For those of you who have yet to experience the watery world of Tentacular in VR, you're in for a real treat for the senses! Tentacular plunges you into the ocean-dwelling hulk of a gigantic mild-mannered mollusc, raised among humans on the bustling and eccentric island of La Kalma.

I've been stockpiling Amazon gift cards for the past couple of years with something like this in mind, so....errr, as long as I can find one on Amazon... It's not my realistically-worst case scenario ($599) but higher than most of the guesses I'd seen.

A little disappointed to see there's no pack-in a la Astro's Playroom.

Sony has pre-registration up now.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I loved my PS VR1, the resolution was low, but the concept and execution was great. Unfortunately when my daughter moved away in 2019, I gave her my PS4 and VR. She ended up giving me the VR back, but I had bought the PS4 Pro, and never got around to figuring out how to hook the VR back up again (with a 4K TV, I remember there are some quirks to it), so it's still all boxed up.

Still, I'll definitely be getting the VR2, not sure if I need to get it at launch.

Yikes. Thatís real steep!

Can this be used with a PC as well, or only on PS5? If itís the former latter, I struggle to see the value in being confined only to the games available on the PlayStation store. That alone is enough to keep me away for the foreseeable future.
