Are you a Costco member? You can get last year's 65" model (a C1) for $1600, with free shipping, a $150 Costco card, $100 streaming credit, and a 3-year protection plan (5 year total coverage). (Link!)

If you're not a Costco member, there's a similar deal at Newegg for the same model. Same price, $150 Visa GC, 4 year protection plan.

I know that's a couple inches smaller than your current display, but if you want to go a little bigger and don't mind a refurb, you can get a 77" Sony XR77A80CJ from BuyDig for $2K. The same display new is $2500 at Costco.

I don't own any of the three August games, so I'm ecstatic.

But now I have a device that can do 4K, and I've seen how nice the display of 4K tvs is (even when not showing 4K content). I've been itching to upgrade to 4K for a while and kind of had "I'll do it when I get a PS5" in my mind. I'll want something at least as big as what I have and know the cheaper brands/models are under $1000. Though what I'm really thinking about is spending more for a nice OLED. Here is the Camel history for the 77" C1 model. The current price for the 77" C2 is $3300 (down from $3500). Not saying that the C2 will track exactly, but it gives you an idea how many drops are coming. I'm surprised that the Black Friday to Christmas drop on the C1 was so small.

That's a heck of a deal. Has anyone experienced burn-in with their OLEDs? That's really the only concern that I have heard about OLEDs. Playing video games with Huds on OLEDS would me a little concerned about the Huds burning in.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I second the praise for Ghost of Tsushima (tho I played on PS4) and Spider-Man/MM (which I’m finishing up now). Spider-Man and Horizon ZD were the first games I played on PS5.

The PS+ Collection (old school, before things changed) has great games, but there wasn’t enough new to me, and not enough play time, so I canceled.

I also recommend the 4k TV.

I’m five years into my OLED and haven’t had any burn-in, despite having sunk more than 100 hours-plus into a bunch of games and my wife’s Animal Crossing play totaling somewhere around 700-800 hours. The most annoying thing about mine is some vertical banding — with certain darker tones, I can see “stripes” — but it’s been doing that since day one and isn’t from use. Supposedly that’s less of an issue with newer models.

That's good to hear. I'm considering getting one when the tv in the living room finally gives out. I have a 43 inch LG 4K LED that I game on.

my E7 had a bad case of burn in. LG replaced the panel even though it was out of warranty.
Unfortunately, the replacement panel has also developed burn in, but it's not as severe as before.
However, the 48" C1 in the other room has been rock solid. Bought it on a very similar Costco deal and I use it all the time. Not even a remote sign of burn in, but I've also tried to be a bit more careful with it. The only static image it ever really sees is the YouTube logo at the top right of the screen, but that hasn't caused any problems.

Static logos should be illegal in The Current Year regardless, though.

I guess they’re finally starting to reach an actual surplus.

I bought mine yesterday, getting it tomorrow.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The gamelists, if I understand what they are correctly, will be nice to have. I like to have the games that the kids can play grouped together for them to choose from.

The gamelists are like folders, similar to the Groups on Xbox.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The Horizon Forbidden West disc drive bundle is still available. No queue waiting.

Unless you really don’t want that game, it’s getting much easier now to get a console.
