Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I got mine through Playstation Direct a month ago and you had to login with your PSN account becasuse each account is only allowed 1 console.
If your PSN account has a CC attached you can just use that card and you don't have to enter your info again..

If it says your wait time is more than an hour, that can drastically change quickly. When I got mine, the wait was an hour or more. Within 5 minutes, the wait dropped to 10 minutes, and I think I was in and buying in less time than that. Also, don't close and reopen the browser or page.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Got it!

Exactly what happened to me. I clicked the "Access Event" link a couple of minutes early and had to do a single "pick out the images with street lights" captcha. At 2 pm I was put in the queue with a message that the wait time would be over an hour. After 5 minutes, the listed wait time dropped to a minute and then I was in. Previously I loaded up a charging station in my cart and saved my CC information. When checking out it only asked for the 3 digit CVV2.
Afterwards I called my bank and told them not to cancel this charge because it looked suspicious. That would be a kick in the nuts to lose the PS5 because of that. And my bank is very aggressive with making me confirm anything that looks remotely unusual (and they've temporarily shut down my card when I don't get back to them right away).

Nice!
I just picked up a 2 TB SSD for my PS5 - I'd already been juggling uninstalling things in order to install newer games. Looking forward to getting it installed.

Early look at the user experience for PlayStation VR2
The new blog post shows off the 'See-Through View' mode so you can check your surroundings, broadcasting yourself as you play with the HD Camera, defining your play area, and the VR and cinematic modes. (Here's hoping for 3D Blu-ray support!)

As such, when I saw your post I clicked on the link and waited.....5 minutes. I guess I finally got one. And with Forbidden Horizon West!
Okay...so what PS5 games are some must haves?

If you can get it for cheap. Spider-Man Miles Morales for PS5. It also comes with Spider-Man remastered as a digital copy. You get two awesome games for the price of 1.

Yeah, I'm a bit done playing the really hard stuff. I think Forbidden Horizon West will be enough for me. Okay, and I'll be on the lookout for Miles Morales.
Also, I have God of War on the PS4. Does that get a free upgrade to PS5? Same with Uncharted 4.

You might want to subscribe to Playstation Plus Extra. They have a ton of games to play, some very very good PS5 games.
Here's the full list :
From that list I would check out Miles Morales, Returnal (though it's too hard for me), Ghost of Tsushima - Director's Cut, Demon's Souls Remake, FF VII Remake Integrade.
Outside of those, I'm a huge fan of Ratchet & Clank : Rift Apart.

You get around 20 PS4 games for free if you have Playstation Plus. I don't think God of War and Uncharted 4 have PS5 versions, but they will load fast if you install them on the PS5 SSD.

There is no PS5 upgrade for God of War. It's just a really nice looking PS4 game. There is an upgrade for Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy together if you own either. It costs $9.99.

Not a native version of the game, no, but it does know if you're playing on a PS5 and will let you play in 2160p/60fps, thanks to a patch from last February. It's still technically backwards compatibility, but it's also a significant improvement over what you'd experience on a PS4 or PS4 Pro.

Good August lineup for those on the essential tier. I've wanted to play Yakuza Like A Dragon.

I already own all of those titles. And I haven't even unwrapped Yakuza Like a Dragon yet.

Yet another Yakuza game. PS+ has handed me so many of those through the years. Every one I've started, put in 20-ish hours, and then given up due to the insane amount of minigames and other things like trying to make sure hostesses like me or whatever. I still have the last one sitting there, taunting me to pick it up. This one does look different though.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
My PS5 was delivered Monday afternoon. I think I could've gotten a slightly faster delivery option (being a PS+ member) but in my excitement to check out from my cart I missed it
Smooth set-up and so far so good. I still have a big backlog of PS4 games, but with the improved hard drive and processor I think I'll be playing them all on the PS5. There's the disclaimer for all PS4 games that there may be issues, but with a very few specific exceptions that hasn't really been an issue for people, has it?
I held on to my PS3 after getting a PS4 since there wasn't the backwards compatibility, and it was a superior media server (and looks to still be over the PS5 ... wish Sony didn't gimp that aspect of their consoles). But with the PS4, I'm not really seeing much of a need for it with a PS5. I live alone in a ranch-style house and I don't need multiple consoles for playing in different rooms. With the PS5 there was a coupon for an extra $25 for a GameStop, which would bring me up to around $100 total reimbursement at the moment. I'll have to give that some serious consideration.
I know it's another topic and thread ... but now I have to start thinking about upgrading my tv to 4K. The one I have is still working fine ... a 67" Samsung 1080p DLP from about 15 years ago (which I paid a pretty penny for when I bought it). But now I have a device that can do 4K, and I've seen how nice the display of 4K tvs is (even when not showing 4K content). I've been itching to upgrade to 4K for a while and kind of had "I'll do it when I get a PS5" in my mind. I'll want something at least as big as what I have and know the cheaper brands/models are under $1000. Though what I'm really thinking about is spending more for a nice OLED. It doesn't have to be right now, but before the end of the year. I can wait until a good time for deals. Would that be Black Friday week (or are 4K tvs something that gets Labor Day sales too)?
Congrats!
If I didn't have such a big PS4 backlog I would sign up for one of those higher levels of PS+ membership. The problem I always have is buying things before I have the time to play them. At the time I think I need to get it because it's a god deal. But many times by the time I get around to playing the games they're even cheaper (if not a PS+ freebie). You'd think I'd learn after years of doing this, but I keep making the same mistake. Still, there are a number of things I want to play on the Extra and Premium levels (and of course, things that I already bought but haven't gotten around to playing yet
). The extra cost of the membership looks like it will easily balance out with the value of the games. Still, I feel like I need to break my PS5 in with an actual PS5 optimized game at some point soon.
That's one that's been on my list. With all the technical issues I heard, I told myself I'd wait until there's a stable version for the PS5 before playing.
