Ended up getting the digital deluxe and enjoying to so far. I like how you can freely choose night or day races, but need to do both. Definitely better than the last few years.

I HATE that you have to drift!

Accidentally found an easy way to lose the cops. Drive into the water. You will respawn, they will not

Picked up my copy from the library this weekend and after a few hours in, I'm pretty disappointed. I can't seem to get the steering right and keep crashing into things or over drifting and spinning out. It's weird, because it's almost like it's partial sim and partial arcade control handling. Kinda like NFS Pro Street was. I'm also not trilled how you have to keep switching between night and day races to determine if you want to gain respect or cash. It just seems like a way to drag things out. I'll put some more time into it, but this might be the first NFS game that I don't finish from this gen.

Game's not bad, I'm just not a fan of open-world racing games.
Just give me a bunch of track/events. You would think that would be easier for them to do than build an open-world "city" to make you go to events. I guess for this game it needs to be open world so you can loose the cops, but that's my least favorite part of the game, so it would be fine if they lost that anyways.

Yeah, I don't know how I forgot to mention the cops part of it. That's one of my biggest gripes. They are a pain in the ass to lose and if you get caught, you lose a good chunk of your money.
But I agree, give me a track listing or just have me drive from one story mission to the next if you have to have it open world. Don't try to make it a Forza Horizon situation with zero of the amount of fun aspect.

As you get a bit better and upgrade your cars (and unlock garages), losing cops is pretty easy. That said, I haven't touched this game in a few weeks because it's mostly just repetitive.

If I had known I would be losing so much money by getting busted, I would have spent that money on a new car or upgrades. But I lost tens of thousands of dollars so far on just a few times getting busted, so that really takes the wind out of your sails. My last pursuit lasted over five minutes, so I finally just gave up and got caught.
