The soundtrack makes me nostalgic as hell.

I still find it baffling that they aren't putting "episode 1 or part 1" somewhere in there. The people who don't diligently follow gaming media that pick up this game because they loved the original and then find out it's like the first 20% of the game they remember are going to be understandably quite upset.

Since this is only 1/2 (1/3?) of the game.....are we looking at another several years for part 2? Or is part 2 pretty far along?

Guess I'll wait for the XBOX ONE/SCARLETT version instead...

I won't be playing this because I don't have a PS4, but I've always enjoyed FFVII. This looks visually impressive but I'm not too sure about the voiceover. I know that I'm used to older game consoles where you read the dialog, not listen to it, and that's probably why I'm not keen on this. The Bruce Lee-like sounds they make when they hit someone are cringe-worthy to me. Coupled with the fact that this is only a small part of the actual game, I guess I'll be happier with my PS1 copy for now. I must admit however that this looks really good, characters and all, the graphics are impressive.

Or if you know Japanese, then French. And if you want it to sound a little more aggressive, German.
I didn't know this was only a timed exclusive for a year. I feel jipped. (no not really).

Fun demo, camera got kind of wacky in spots but a nice remake so far.

Less than 2 days to go. Some good review scores has me pumped. Still pretty pissed Square wont release it early on digital.
So what are your guys predictions for release dates on future parts? I'm guessing it'll be split into three games with Part 2 coming next year and Part 3 2022.

Amazon sent an email a couple weeks telling me my deluxe copy wasn't coming until the 14th. No big deal since it's a few games down on my list.

Reviews are good. Apparently it's 30 to 40 hours long.
I might buy it later on when/if it's on sale, or if I get really bored during this quarantine.

Eh seems a lot of people in Australia already got the game last week. I've read some very bad things about how the story has been completely changed to the point that it's more like a bad fan-fiction sequel to the original compilation with Kingdom Hearts elements tossed into it, rather than an actual remake with the original story left intact.
Apparently the game has a lot of padding, running down narrow empty pathways for long periods, some really low textures for anything not right up close in the immediate background, Swiss cheese hair textures at times, etc. Unless you really just kill time or go on a bunch of tiny repetitive yet completely unrewarding fetch-quests, reviews are reporting that the game takes roughly 20-25 hours.
Here is just one of dozens of reviews I've checked out. This one is pretty much entirely free of any spoilers and goes into some of the technical aspects, soft-locking bugs, texture issues, etc:
I'm not going to get into what was changed so drastically about the story because most people here haven't had a chance to play it and I'm not one to spoil things. But maybe we can talk about the ending of part one once everyone is on the same page.
I haven't personally played it as I'm waiting for the possible eventual PC release, but I have watched others who played the game in full.

Same for me. Not a huge deal, but I don't really understand why this item, which I ordered last June and is now in the warehouse ready to ship, isn't able to be sent and delivered on time. I would understand if I ordered an in-stock already-released game and it took a while to ship, but they've had a ton of lead-up time and it seems like it should have at least shipped by now, even if it were a slower shipping speed.

I pre-ordered this week for curbside pick up at Best Buy. It sounds like stores have had this game on hand for quite a while, so I would be surprised if it isn't available tomorrow.
