So here's a weird one, wondering if any of you guys are experiencing it.
MP won't load if I return to my (xbox series X) and start Halo from the save state/quick load(? don't know what that feature is called). I have to forcibly quit Halo and re-open it to get multiplayer to work. It's been every time too, not just a one-off anomaly.

Apparently the PC version has some pretty bad performance issues, especially with Nvidia cards, so I guess I’ll be waiting a while before I try the campaign.

Seems like it’s more than just that. The guy who did that video said it had so many issues, particularly with Nvidia based cards, that he’s going to wait until they patch it a bit before he finishes his play through. Digital Foundry seems to know their stuff so I might as well wait a bit too.

DLSS would be a killer feature though and it doesn't really feel like a "next-gen" game, but for 343 it's a surprising amount of fun so far.

Yea, disabling both of those made it smooth for me. I’m playing at 3440 x 1440 on Ultra with the 4K texture pack installed and it’s pretty solid for me (3080). There are some jarring dips to 30 sometimes during cutscenes though.

Campaign is fun so far, though it is fucking TOUGH on Heroic. Not sure if that's the game or my old man reflexes, though.

I usually do my first play through on Normal to get a feel for it, before I go back and play on heroic. I’ve died more in the first few hours playing on normal than I usually do on heroic. I think part of it is that you have to upgrade your shield and other items which you didn’t in the previous games. At least that’s my excuse. 😂

I'm playing on Legendary, and everything outside of the bosses feels much easier to me so far. The bosses just feel like cheap bullet sponges though.

According to that video the cutscenes are locked to 30fps on the PC.

Yeah that's really obvious in game. I noticed some hiccups on vehicles so I do hope that gets patched, minor overall though. Echo 216 is a whiney sob.
Fun game though so far. Kotaku wrote an article about how bad the first couple hours are but honestly, it was a tutorial section and about half as long as they made it out to be, plus fast paced. They've really let themselves go.

That is a weird comment to me. The first two levels played similarly to the campaign in every other Halo game, so does that mean they didn't like any of the other Halo games?

It makes for a catchy headline and frankly what else is internet blogging these days.

This is fun. Only few minutes in, but looks fantastic. The sound effects are better too. Loving the aesthetic so far. The grapple hook is awesome!

I'm about halfway through so far, and I must say that the open world stuff isn't very good in my opinion.
Once you unlock the weapons that you like at the FOBs, all the optional open world stuff becomes really easy. Max ammo for all your favorite weapons whenever you want. You can even unlock all the vehicles. Even if you happen to die, checkpoints happen so frequently that dying is almost no penalty at all.

I agree, The core gameplay feels great but the open world structure is kind of lackluster. I just have no drive to keep going after a zone is cleared.

I am having a blast in open world. Filling a razorback with marines and driving around blowing everything up has been super fun. I still haven't beaten the Spire story level yet because I've been driving around unlocking FOBs and collecting variant weapons.

I’m loving this so far, following story, good story. One real baddie. I do think it’s pretty damn tough on normal. I might have to drop down so I can enjoy and taken in and not die so much. I’ve never played a Halo game on easy, but this has so much more, thus far to take in. Just got outside. Woo boy is it gorgeous and familiar at same time. Not a bad thing.
