So backlash has apparently been mighty and fierce over the GamePass leveling. 343 is going to revamp it. That's the good news. The bad news is they have to wipe everyone's progress to do it. So don't get too attached to your levels. I'm assuming you'd keep any tchotchkes you've already unlocked but who knows.
To compensate they're giving out the monthly award (a gold visor, whoo!? ) to everyone who logs in next week.
So with that coming down the pike, I might give it a rest (after I unlock my next award) until it's fixed.
Well that's a lovely "feature."
I'm only 2 days into owning the console and other than 4k there's not a lot to gush over since they didn't revamp anything. Quick resume was one of the few new features I was looking forward to.

^ this is just the multiplayer at this point. The campaign doesn't come out for another few weeks. Halo is one big story though where each game builds on itself, so I don't see why this would be any different. On the flipside, I think the Promethean story was pretty despised by most so hopefully they moved on from that. If that's the case then you could probably skip 5.
The quick resume technically works i.e. the game boots up but once you try and load a multiplayer game it fails, no matter how many times I try. That's when the force quit/restart comes into play and things magically work.

Thanks MC. I know just multi out rn, but just wondering how connected 6 was to 5 in SP campaign and if it matters. My buddy said yeah bc of Cortana stuff…

That could be a factor but the point was, it's not out for another 3 weeks. We don't know what the story is or how they're connected. We'll all find out together.
The Cortanna stuff was jump-the-shark material in the Halo-verse. They fucking ruined an amazing character and unique dynamic. It's going to be tough to recover from that.

Halo Infinite Campaign Co-op and Forge Mode Releases Pushed Back
Halo Infinite won't be getting a co-op option for Campaign mode until May 2022 at the earliest, and Forge mode will be even further down the line.
Speaking to Eurogamer, 343 head of creative Joseph Staten confirmed that the game's extension of Halo Infinite Season 1 means the two much-requested features have been delayed.
When 343 announced that Campaign co-op and Forge would not be in the launch game, it made clear that the former would drop during Season 2, and the latter in Season 3. Staten confirmed that, with Season 1 now taking place for around 6 months instead of the planned 3, that means those modes have also been pushed back. Season 2 should begin in May 2022, with Season 3 likely to be around August/September.

It's weird how piecemeal some releases are these days. OTOH, the beta to this is the most fun I've had with Halo in fifteen years.

Same. Easily the most fun MP since Bungie was in charge it's a shame 343 has bungled everything else. The whole chasing a gaming trend with the battle pass is currently a joke. Not being able to earn credits while playing, also a joke. Removing 99% of cosmetic upgrades that have been in the last few Halos only to put them behind a paywall, joke. Tying XP to challenges breaks the MP. People hop in to get their challenge/XP instead of playing the objective. It's a shame 343 is intent on just following everyone else instead of coming up with something new. Bungie set the bar for other games to follow with Halo... 343 has yet to figure out what Halo is supposed to be.
Also, if they're going piecemeal like this then they should charging as such. Campaign is already overpriced at $60 considering MP is free. Campaign should have been $40. With these other delays $20-30, tops.

Halo has always been a single player game to me, so I’m really looking forward to the campaign. People seem to be pretty positive in it so far.
I’ve played a few hours of the Infinite multiplayer and it just isn’t for me. I’m having a much better time with Call of Duty. The match to match progression is more satisfying.

I see some of you old-timers online giving this a try.
I've found it pretty fun so far, though my skills have atrophied significantly.
Where's Shlug, I need a warthog driver.

Halo Infinite's slow multiplayer progression has been a point of contention among fans in what is otherwise an excellent version of Halo online, and in response, developer 343 Industries is increasing the amount of XP players earn in their first few matches each day.
Previously, playing a single online match rewarded players with 50XP, no matter what. But now, players will earn 300XP for playing their first match each day, with that number slowly decreasing with each match played for the first six matches. The breakdown is as follows.

I haver to admit that I am enjoying the MP as well even though 9 times out of 10 I suck.
I am so out of practice but it definitely feels like Halo of old. Looking forward to the campaign. I assume it will be included in GP as well? I saw a mention of charging for it but I haven't read certain neither here nor there.

And the best news...? No Prometheans!
It is included, yeah. The talk of charging is just in contrast to the multiplayer.
Multiplayer = free
Campaign = $60 purchase or GamePass

Can’t wait to crack into campaign. I think it’s gonna be a blast. Glad I purchased so I own rather than who knows future. Plus, I own all and love all Halo.

I'm enjoying MP quite a bit. Takes me back to my days of playing Halo 2 with a lot of you...like 17 years ago. Man I feel old.
