Watch Dogs Legion (PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC) - 10/29/20

From the Amazon leak description:

Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It's a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce levels in the world making this the perfect playground.

And the E3 leaks begin :)

Play as any NPC? That's nuts, I wouldnt imagine there is much dialogue if that's the case. Either way, sounds like a breakthrough in gaming if they pull it off.

Every year a new Ubisoft game gets spoiled right before E3.

I bet they have a cap on the number of truly different NPCs and each person out there will be tied to that created experience. They could have also figured out a system like the Shadow of Mordor games where they give the game certain parameters and allow it to create that NPC's route from a variety of random experiences and missions.

Splinter Cell is a given as well since Gamestop had a listing for some goggles and removed it the next day. I still can't believe it's taken this long to get a Splinter Cell game on this gen.

Wow, looks like you can you use any NPC - this will be interesting, I seriously do believe this will be groundbreaking if they pull it off.

Lol at Ubisoft with this franchise - Watch Dogs is their "fetch", they keep trying to make it happen!

Yeah, The game doesn't look that great but I want to see the NPC part first hand.

My copy's getting here tomorrow, and I would say that it'd be a struggle to wait until the Xbox Series X launches to play it, but I guess I kinda have to wait a bit anyway:

Picked it up today. I have bought all the games in the series and have yet to finish one. Hell, i have yet to even seriously play one. They have always seemed like a great idea, but the final product is not engaging.

Having said that, i am really enjoying this one. It seems like its fine tuned a few things and created a more engaing sandbox this time with many things to do. Between this and AC: Valhalla i am gonna have a lot of time spending on them both.

BTW, i am still curious to know how the free Next Gen upgrade works. Does thDonew system confirm you had the game installed and then automatically download the next gen version? I am holding off on next gen for a little while, but am really enjoying seeing this running on it.

The first one was fun, the second one was forgettable, but I finished both. I got my copy today for the Xbox, and I have a question. Does anyone know if I start a new game on the One X will it carry over to the Series X? Or will I have to start all over?

The save will definitely carry over. They call the upgrade system “Smart Delivery “ on the Xbox.

Put about 10 hours into this over the weekend. I didn't play either of the previous games in the series. London looks good and the voice acting is excellent. Overall I find it pretty repetitive though. There have been a few missions which are unique but most are just "go to this place and hack some server". I've also noticed a good amount of repetition in the indoor environments. Fun enough that I'll finish it but not good enough that I'll care about any DLC or keep it installed once I'm done.

I’m glad to hear this game is fairly decent. I really enjoyed the second one.

It’s wild that there are three open world Ubisoft games coming out so close together (this and AC and Immortals). AC takes priority for me, but I look forward to getting the other two probably sometime after the new year when they’ll plummet in price as many Ubisoft games do.

Re: Watch Dogs Legion (PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC) - 10/29/20

I would definitely say it's better than fairly decent. But not to the level of recent AC games or GTA. It's closest comparison IMO is Spiderman. Not much side content outside the main story and helping each borough. I'd say London here looks just as good as NYC in Spidey.

Re: Watch Dogs Legion (PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC) - 10/29/20

Yeah, I am enjoying it. I don't think it's quite as good as Spider-Man which was, to me, an absolute joy. But this is pretty good. Yes, it gets repeditive, but the fact that you can tackle any mission with either spider-drones, Hitman-like disguises and camouflages or coming in guns ablaze means that you can still mix it up pretty good and tailor the gameplay as you like.
The map is friggin huge. Takes forever to get anywhere whether you are on foot, driving around too-accurate London-like traffic, or even riding a cargo drone (which is pretty cool but slow). Happily the fast-travel option is readily available and conveniently mirrors the real-life tube stations throughout the city. Once you have unclouded the area you can travel to that tube station. Loading times can be a bit of a pain, but hopefully not on my upcoming PS5.

I've played this quite a bit and have basically been hovering around and getting tech points, evo and other stuff. I finally seized control of a burrough.

Re: Watch Dogs Legion (PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC) - 10/29/20

As far as I know, Evo is only used to buy clothes. I wouldn't spent too much time collecting those spots on the map unless you want a full wardrobe. You'll get plenty from missions; I think I'm sitting on like 12k.
