Sony Censorship Policy affecting games in Japan

Sony has new guidelines for regulating sexually explicit content in games sold on the Playstation platform.

BRAVE NEPTUNIA PS4 (Super Neptunia RPG) sales down 72% in Japan compared to other games in the franchise

I buy all the Neptunia games, they really don't show much of anything compared to other games. When SENRAN KAGURA Burst Re:Newal came out in NA I didn't think the mode that was stripped from the game was really terrible but now that the new guidelines are forcing full compliance in Japan to the point it is affecting Neptunia games which shows almost nothing. Both games are getting a steam release uncensored.

I bought an Alienware gaming computer a few month ago, I am done buying Playstation consoles and games. Whats next, Sony would start censoring violence in games?

Did you read the article you posted?
It’s pointed out in the Twitter thread that the sales dip was unlikely due to the censorship issue for Brave Neptunia (or Super Neptunia RPG for those in the West), since the censorship wasn’t discovered for the PS4 version until after it was released on December 20th, 2018.

If you visit the Japanese Amazon page for the game, you’ll find that a lot of the negative reviews are actually centered around the combat mechanics, the game switching from 3D to 2D (and the poor animation quality of the 2D sprites), and that the game suffers from “button mashing”.

Right after the part you quoted.
Now amid the complaints about the game being boring and the animation quality, there are those who have given the game a lower review score due to Sony’s censorship policy, or as they call it in Japan “Sony’s regulation”.
