FYI, if you preordered the Division 2 through BB (maybe other retailers, too) the private beta stuff just got sent via email.

When does that start? ....Updated: Just announced today...February 7-10
I've been keeping up with Anthem a lot...and seems about every other day something about the game pops up. But...it seems mighty quite with The Division 2 as I've hardly seen anything though the game is two months away.....From everything I've seen which seems to be very little, along with limited feedback on the closed beta test due to the NDA....the game will be a vast improvement plus I think the more openness of Washington opposed to the "Concrete Jungle" of NYC will be a huge plus. I was a bit taken back by the costs of the other editions beside the standard....they're up there.

Updated...New Story Trailer out today as well...

Good article from IGN..."7 Important Changes Coming To The Division 2".... https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/01...the-division-2

It sounds like they are going to fix The Dark Zone...a lot in several ways and hopefully make it more appealing to more players. The bit on getting loot, shooting the flare up to get extracted by helicopter with loot only to have several around to ambush you and take everything became no fun and left many frustrated. The added..."Clans"...sounds interesting with the ability for a "Clan Hall", easier ways to connect and even more rewards for Clan Groups doing stuff together.

I figured since Beta codes are going out, it was time to split off from the old thread. Beta starts on Thursday and goes through Sunday.

I'm going XB1X this time around.

I didn't really get a lot of enjoyment out of the first game though I bought the Gold Edition and my best friend got it as well. Not sure if I will pull the trigger on this one or not yet. How is it different from the first game?

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I found the first game EXTREMELY frustrating. Run here, pump too many bullets into ALL those bad guys, run there, do it again. I so wish we could get a Rainbow Six title with a full story or a sequel to Ghost Recon.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I did the pre-order today and know a few others getting it....we all played the first and from beginning to a certain point, the game was fun but when you reached where you needed to be in a group with some higher level players, it became frustrating. It was somewhat like with Destiny...if you were like 3-6 levels below, good luck. And finding anyone was a chore so it sort of faded until they came out with new levels and stuff.

I found this article.... https://www.playstationlifestyle.net...-rpg/#/slide/1....The Division 2 Endgame Leans Heavily into the Post-Outbreak DC RPG – Hands-On Preview

...that's really good about how the game seems to improve especially after you hit Level 30. From 1 thru 30 is the main campaign and story taking back Washington D.C. But they said as good as they did New York, they upped the bar with Washinton D.C almost nailing it down one-to-one...not just outside but even inside the buildings. There will be far more weather effects in play. They also did quite a bit of research on what a post-outbreak society would look like which the setting is seven months after a outbreak..

One are I didn't know is the Civilians are not the same "Please help me" ones from Division 1....these will actually help and be more part of what's going on. The Enemy Factions will be different with one playing a central part in the end-game stuff. They've even re-tooled the PvPvE aspect with some different modes to help both seasoned and newcomers with different areas.A larger wide open Washington D.C area, a few new toys to play with....I think this one will be good and better.

I was pretty up with Amazon and was about to cancel my Digital pre-order late last night since my Beta Code still hadn't been sent...but got it almost at midnight so it's loading and will be on after work. Anyone here on PS4 going to be in...might need some company. Just like with Anthem, I know it's not representative of the Final Game and just want to give it a test run. I think this time around while some of the core remains, we'll have more to use and do. Heck...I'll even see how they changed the PvPvE element. Looking forward to it the next few days.....and probably looking for a Clan as well...

Decker, one of your links even says 'Stop comparing it to Destiny'

Really, it's nothing like Destiny. If you are comparing it to Destiny, you might as well compare it to Diablo or any other loot based game.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

Was able to get in last night and overall good...except I got kicked & a error screen about (5) times but I had to deal with the infamous stuck at 90% Expedition Screen 25 times with Anthem in the VIP so no big deal...

Off the bat within a few minutes, it's big and wide opened compared to the streets with towering buildings surrounding you from New York. You also see the change of weather from thick fog, sunny day, cloudy and rain....and they captured the "Aftermath" of a abandoned run-down, unattended society with the overgrowth, same wrecked abandoned vehicles everywhere, and piles of items from tents, luggage, trash bags....if you thought New York had stuff all over, you haven't seen anything yet...

You have to make your way to The White House dealing with few bad guys here and there but need to deal with around 6-7 out front before making it in. An element that you will see often is "Poison Gas Clouds" that are very bad. Early on and even later you'll see various types of containers around of shapes and sizes that house gas or whatever you can shoot to help deal with enemies. Once at The White House, you meet the contact. But when you go in, you really want to take a tour, they did a good job on it. You meet the Quartermaster where you have a lot of the same tools and choices from Division 1, it's structured a bit different. Skills...think there's (8) total and you can only test drive three including the new Drone which has four abilities; with two you can play with, Bombardier and Fix-It. These are cool.....and there's Turret and Rolling Mine ack again.

Given your first mission which sets you out to meeting someone who heads up a "Settlement"...but once outside of The White House, you are struck with even more of the openness and grand scale of Washington D.C.....you feel you're part of A Bug's Life when you pull up the map seeing just how much is out there versus looking down long streets. You deal with a few bad guys who have a 'Charger'...some drug intoxicated wacko who are easy to deal with unless you're gun jams. Got to play with the Drone finally where with PS4, hit (R1), it pops out....then Aim + (R1) to mark two points and off it goes delivering a small explosive charge which can take out 1-3 fairly easy.

Settlements...sort of picture for those who played Fallout 4...as another large Safe Zone but has the same vendors along with needing upgrades as your main base. You get missions from these as well on getting much needed items that helps them expand, grow stronger and secure an area. You also can "Recruit Characters" to go to the Main base at the The White House...since at the beginning you're told they're understaff. It's pretty cool to see some of the Civilians out fighting which sometimes you'll run into a pack of four patrolling and even more so when some coming back with supplies to The Settlement. You can help with Trade Routes between Settlements later in the game. You also get a "Flare Gun"..which I haven't used yet....to go into a specific held point, shoot up and the NPC Civilians will come and assist you. The Beggars from New York are gone....the Helpers of Washington D.C are here...

Lag started real bad so I called it after getting to Level 3...didn't mess with anything else nor the every couple of minutes..."Agent In Need Of Assistance" which I want to get into to see how the co-op/MP part works...sent to same area with same level of enemies or what? So far it's been fine...some minor rough around the edges but good.

I am enjoying it. It literally is the same as the last game. I mean, graphically it is superior. I love the more open space. NYC always seemed so confined. I hate the fucking drone skill. I can't ever get it to work. Turret is awesome as always. My buddy and I have been booted numerous timed while playing, but it is still infinitely more stable than anthem.

Yea....most the time it works but there's been a few where it didn't. I don't know if it has something with marking the two spots in a certain time or being interrupted while doing so. When it does work, it's awesome. I did the one mission where you have to save that Settlement Leader's Kid and met up with the NPC Agent. She was using the Drone with the Rattleshot (light machine guns). Both here and that Drone was just going after any and everything. I have seen the footage of where the Drone breaks up to like a mini Drone Swarm...no that one was cool. But like you, it's the same feel of D1, love the wide openness and will see how The Settlement Missions do, calling in Civilian Help, go and help others in the menu "answer the call" which I assume you go and help another player?

I know why it keeps going off...there's others playing solo and they're finding it tough and/or going down. I've heard a call come in like every 4-5 minutes but I can see why. At the first Safe House, I've stayed there for awhile just to see how many respawn in that back room...after you die it there or The White House...and it's like someone every two minutes. I'm getting to points and areas it's pretty tough and have yet to call or have another playing alongside. But today I am going to see how the Call For and also Answer The Call works.

This Is What Fallout 76 Should've Been....I'm liking the Settlement Idea even more after playing most the night. I've started on some missions to recruit characters for The White House at The Theater Settlement. This has added a lot more to the game wher beside the Main Base of Operations, you have these Settlements to help out, build, recruit and hold areas. It's a huge change from D1....instead of "Please help me"...it's now "Lets go kick some booty". There's not the micro-managing of you do this or that...it's open a mission, do what's on the list, turn it in and something new for the Settlement. I did one to save some at the MLK Library...slightly tough and challenging...came back and where the NPC was who gave me the mission, kids were playing video games and having a good time.

Later I did a Point where I could call in help using the Flare Gun....I can't tell if they're actually killing anyone but I'll gladly take four extra guns doing something instead of begging and running for cover. One even jumped up, grabbed the 50 Caliber and just wore them out. Once secured, they need some minor supplies which you get from loot, turn some in to the lead person and they'll stay in that area. And you'll run into Patrols in the middle of a fight which you can come in behind or sides, help out, get some kills, say hi to the Patrol and go on. The Settlements, Minute Men Patrols and Civilians Helping out are a lot like in Fallout 4 where you didn't feel totally alone in a SP Game or while walking the streets of New York solo. It would be nice though for those who do like solo play to have the option of calling in a "Companion Agent"...it's nothing more frustrating than almost completing a area, going down and restarting...which is why the constant calls of 'Agent in need of assistance" keeps going off....At level 5 and loving the game and have yet try the PvPvE part.....

you can turn it off on your map. Pull the map up and toggle over to SHD. At the bottom it shows which button to turn off call to help.

Yep....most of the time those we did spot it was because of gunfire. But sometimes we be just moving along and they be pretty close. But we did not have "Pulse" available in the Beta. Also in the Specialized Sharpshooter Class, there is a Tactician Drone, one that once deployed will stay high enough and mark enemies and track their movement..as long as it's in the air..

Three us tried the End Game portion last night.....that was say interesting, fun and frustrating. We all picked different Specialist which really helped....but hardly used your Specialist Weapon. One got to shoot her Crossbow once, the one with Grenade launcher I think 2 times and I never got a single shot off with the .50 Cal Sniper. All the while the other side seemed to have far more at their disposal coming at us in more ways I could count....mechanical dogs with turrets, countless stream of firebomb dropping drones, snipers who could take down 90% of your armor with one shot, rolling mines which theirs worked and ours didn't....and last stage which we didn't complete because screen froze up on me.....someone had some rocket launcher that was a one shot killer. We chewed thru those Armor Restore packs like potato chips...along with no grenades, not able to use your Specialist Weapon, faulty not working correctly Rolling Mines...it was brutal....

But I did take a snapshot of some of the End Game Gear and on the face of it, there were some impressive numbers along with the set perks. And we had no problem and issues collecting Purple & Gold Gear

Played a little this morning. Seems cool.

I had the Gold Edition preordered but checking the content, besides the Steelbook, doesn't seem like it's worth much.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2’s Year 1 Pass is an optional addition to the full game and is included in the Gold, Ultimate, Dark Zone Definitive and Phoenix Shield Edition. It will also become available as a separate purchase when the game launches and more importantly doesn’t give any advantages over players who don’t own the pass.

https://cdn.division.zone/uploads/20...nt-678x381.jpg It includes the following content:
  • 7-Day Early Access to Episode Narrative Content
    • Owners of the Pass will have a 7-day early access to the narrative content only, included in all Year 1 Episodes.
  • Instant unlock of the Year 1 Specializations
    • At launch, The Division 2 will include three Specializations, instantly available to everyone when reaching max level (Level 30).
    • Throughout Year 1, three additional Specializations will be released. Year 1 Pass holders will unlock them right away.
    • For those who do not have the Year 1 Pass, Specializations will be released at the same time, but must be unlocked over time through gameplay.
    • Year 1 Pass holders will also be able to earn exclusive cosmetic items with each Specialization’s release.
  • Exclusive Access to Classified Assignments
    • Throughout Year 1, Pass holders will have exclusive access to 8 Classified Assignments, which will provide more story behind the events leading to your arrival in D.C.
    • Completing each assignment will award players with a unique and exclusive backpack trophy to customize your Agent’s look.
  • Additional Bounties and Projects
    • Bounties in The Division 2 are special tasks to eliminate specific enemy targets, while Projects are assignments to complete various tasks around D.C.
    • As a Year 1 Pass holder, you will get access to one additional Bounty per week and one extra Project per day for a Challenging mission.
    • This perk ends on March 1st, 2020.
  • Exclusive Cosmetic Items
    • Year 1 Pass holders will get access to these exclusive rewards: the Agent Ward Outfit and the Scout emote.

I passed on the Digital Gold Version...at $120.00...I just feel some of these Special Editions packages with season pass and some extra stuff is starting to get out of hand and a bit ridiculous $$$$ wise. About four of us got The Division 2 but all got the standard. I'll play the Open Beta this weekend but not nearly as much as I did the first time....I do want another shot at the End Game, see the new mission and see what the Chem Gun does and also see if they did anything with using the Drone which was off trying to target an area. Other than that...looking forward to this.

I loved GR: Wildlands.....it's huge, the way the map was divided up, able to fly and drive about anything including Dirt Bikes...which at night was a blast. Able to be stealth or guns blazing....just a solid game all around. But D2 will be good with the setting in Washington D.C which Ubisoft just nailed down...they really went all out on this. There's a few things in GR: Wildlands I miss...mainly not prone and crouching, not so much stealth anywhere, no driving anything and the controls on the drone in D2 such compared to GR: Wildlands. But yea...I'm in ....

I didn't do really much of the DZ stuff in the 1st one, but I didn't have much of a problem playing the story stuff solo (mostly). I had a buddy who would occasionally hop on and we'd crush stuff, but I'd say I did about 90% of it solo.
