Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

The game is basically almost being given away in the PS Store right now. I was searching fo any DLC whichdoesn't exist like you would see with Destiny. It's "Gold Credits and Season One Pass"...which ends March 1st. But for what the price is, I would say get it. It can and is good to play though far better with 2-4 in a group. And what they did in capturing Washington D.C is alone worth the price. Right now, the "Standard Edition" is like $3.00...."The Gold Edition" is around $11.00 and "The Ultimate Edition" which when new was $120.00 is now like $18.00. I sure as heck get this over GR Breakpoint or Fallout 76.

FWIW...I think a few of us are planning to re-group this weekend and slowly venture out on just where we stand and look around...it's only been 7-8 months....if someone is stuck solo and might need a hand on something...we probably could use a warmup anyway.....just drop a note (on PS4)....

So are the Gold or ultimate editions "worth it" or just stick with the base game?

The Ultimate Edition gave you some outfits, I think like a specialty weapon (Gold) and Season Pass which ends March 1st....access to all Year One Episodes. The Gold Edition gave you the Season Pass.

Frankly, if one was pretty sure they'll get the game and stay with it, I'd seriously consider the The Division 2 - Warlords of New York Ultimate Edition Pack which is now is up for pre-order on the Ubisoft Store right now at $52.00 normally $80.00. It has all the First Ultimate Edition stuff plus more like all six specializations and six episodes, level 30 boost, level 40 outfit and base game. I mean the New York Expansion alone is like $30.00. From what I saw it does look good and interesting. Alot hope that over the course of one year they've improved the game and will make the New York Expansion worthy.....we'll see. If not sure, can't go wrong just grabbing the Base Game at $3.00...that's a no brainer.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

We finally got together yesterday...three of us...and played for the first time in nearly 7-8 months. It felt good, fun and forgot just how great the game looked. To this day I've never seen a game with such fine details scattered about. All three of started at around Level 495 and frankly didn't have much with Level 498-500. We decided to jump right in some missions to open up The Zoo....it was challenging yet fun especially with just three of us. We did a bounty, so side stuff, control point all of getting to Level 500 and more gear we could deal with. No doubt this game is meant to play with friends period....

There's a lot to do in the game no doubt just looking at the map. We're all planning on getting the Warlords of NY Expansion but will stay in Washington for awhile....if you go to New York, you cannot leave until you complete the story....all eyes will be on the update on how all the new leveling and Gear Score will work, what goes away, what stays and what will be added. All-in-all, this game has a lot to give and is still provides a lot to do. We don't mess with the PvP part but when we dropped in, no matter where you walked and went, something is going on, on the map, happening....we were happy we got back in.

Is that correct about the expansion? You canít go back to DC until you finish it? That is insane.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I unlocked the Gunner spec and started working on leveling it up. It kind of sucks going from a full spec to a new spec because you lose bonus damage the talents give your normal guns (like the +x% damage using LMGs, etc).
I'm guessing level 500 gear is the highest level gear since i havent seen anything higher for a while. Now its time to work on green sets, i guess.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

Yep...what a friend told me you have to complete the Story before heading back to Washington...so do what you need to do before heading that way.....

Yes...For now the Gear Score is capped at 500 but that's about to change to 515 when new expansion hits. Now...if you get the Warlords Expansion, the Level Cap will be 40 from 30 but Gear Score for everyone will be 515. If you don't get the expansion, Level stays at 30 but Gear Score still goes to 515.

A lot of changes for the Gear Score, Skill Level, Re calibration......for the most part the changes seem to be a good thing....but it'll hit the ones who have spent a lot of time fine tuning and perfecting the builds since all that will go away and they'll have to start fresh. Average and new players, not so much.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I've been curious about the upcoming changes along with the new Warlords of New York Expansion...but someone posted on the official Ubisoft Division 2 Forums that a lot of players may have overlooked and knew about....which has now started to get a lot of players...especially long time players...nervous.....This is what they posted and read carefully as it pertains to you not able to use your current Stat Library (Washington D.C) in the WoNY Expansion.... https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthrea...-Library/page3

Please be sure to share this with all you know who play THE DIVISION 2 and who are planning to participate in the WONY expansion as it is not as widely known as it needs to be.

The following is not something new but it is something of importance that many may be unaware of as I've seen many contradicting posts and "How to prepare for the WONY Expansion" YouTube videos that have this gotten this wrong. Any stats you have on gear now can not be added to the stat library that will be used for new gear from the WONY expansion.

From one of the Games Devs on Twitter:

Q: Can you put a level 30 stat such as armour/health % in the new library and use it on a level 40 item?
A: No. 30 and 40 library are separate.
SOURCE:

What this means is that any gear you currently have that has a stat you wish to use on another piece of gear by storing it in the upcoming stat library can not be stored in the stat library that will be used by any gear you get in the expansion, gear that is between lvl 31 to 40.

I am sharing this because many I know were unaware of this limitation. They understood that there were 2 libraries that would be used by gear from the expansion verses gear from DC but they were not aware that they could not take existing stats and store them into the library that will be used on new gear form the expansion.

Whats the deal with the Henley (Hanley?) College area? Its only available to me some of the time and when ever i got there, i get destroyed. I can also never seem to find a group for it. I would like to complete it just so the dude will stop telling me to go there.
I soloed the Pentagon missions yesterday. that was pretty fun. the last boss guy who shoots mortar rounds at you was tough. I put together a 4 piece set of the Patriot gear. I dont know if its better than my previous gear but i like seeing the debuffs everywhere, haha

I just visited this area for the first time yesterday. I think I went into the Library and there were three missions to do in there. Two of them I was able to complete solo, but the third one, where I had to defend three different computer terminals, was impossible. I was able to call for help and get one other person to join me, but they dropped out after two failed attempts. I'm all done going there.

I'm just getting back into this game since launch, and I guess there's supposed to be some new story missions that have been added throughout the year, but I have no idea how to get to them. I'm on World Tier 3. I can open my activity log from the map and it looks like there are missions available, but they all direct me to the White House, and once I get there I have no idea where to go or who to talk to. There are no mission icons on the map itself, however.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I wouldn't put much time and effort on any gear right now with the release of Warlords of New York and the new Gear 2.0, Skill Power and Crafting overhaul. A lot of players...mainly the hardcore vets who've put a lot of time in their builds are watching closely. But pretty much whatever you have now will change...which most think will be for the best but even the first week many are expecting a bumpy ride out of the gate....this is really a big change and update besides Warlords....

UPDATE....here's a list of the Patch1.18 Update...and it's long and a lot to take in.... https://www.psu.com/news/the-divisio...ealed-for-ps4/

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

Downloaded the update today. It's a doozy -- took about an hour.

It seems pretty extensive, but I haven't engaged with any of the expansion or new crafting stuff yet. The gear UI is cleaned up and simplified, which is nice.

I finally figured out what the extra missions in my activity log were. I finally looked them up online and I guess they are hidden side missions (Missing Wire Scavengers, Missing Curators, etc.).

And on a side note, I built a new PC a couple weeks ago, which is probably considered mid-tier now but still quite a lot more powerful than my old one, and man this game looks so good. Before I had to lower my resolution and graphics and still had choppy frames. But now I can run at 2560x1440 with most settings up to High or Ultra, and it's smooth as butter.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I didn't do anything but DL the update...but did see a few on friends list playing and at Level 34-35 after almost 3hrs. We're going in fresh, take our time, explore and play the game.....I did check the official forum and as usual there's a lot of bemoaning, criticizing, ripping, bashing and crying mainly it appears from the HC Players who saw their insane damage builds they spent 100's of hours perfecting just vanish...but they and everyone else knew this was going to happen yet blasting the Devs. Yes, there will be some bugs and issues; this was huge....and a friend last night said Washington was basically dead....

I was planning on messing around DC for a while still, wrapping up some side missions, but it sounds like most of the best gear now drops in the expansion or after lvl 40. So I guess I should be working towards that now instead.

Yea...this has a bit of "Good and Bad" in the mix. Like some of us were saying last week, it's a lot like how with Destiny....they put out the game, add some DLC here and there and then around August or September, here comes a mega expansion with tons of goodies that you don't really need but make it like if you don't buy it, you're not going to get the best, new improved, new missions, new area, new gear, new armor, new this and that.

So it's the same here...you don't have to get the WoNY Expansion and stay in Washington...where it's becoming a Ghost Town already and stay at Level 30 with a Gear Score of 515....of plop down $30.00, move to New York for awhile with new story, new gear, new skills, new bosses, new everything.....but some of us also think while everyone is in New York, they're going to do some stuff in Washington so....

yeah, I was unable to solo that Heenly College library mission where you had to defend the two terminals. I ended up getting a group last night and doing two of the Heenly zones, just need to do the subway one now.

New gear is a lot simpler than before. I like it because I didnt know what a good build was before. They changed the True Patriot set bonus too so if the enemy dies with all three defuffs, they explode in a firework blast.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

We....three of us....started WoNY last night...and New York looks different from the New York in Division 1. A lot of places will look familiar and they did an outstanding job visually which we're always amazed in all the small details in this game.

Still learning on the new Gear 2.0 System but it does feel easier to understand overall than trying to focus on sets alone as before which gives you a bit more freedom and leeway in putting odds & ends together for damage & survivability. Didn't mess with the Recalibration Part....Drops were in line for the most part starting out where we saw mainly green with some blue that was right on par with our Level that saw us go from level 30 to 32 after some play time. We took down the First Boss; one with the Drones and that was a fun and different mission which we got the deco Skill...haven't tried it yet. I started a complete new character and after hitting Level 32 didn't feel underwhelmed, under geared, under armored...

I got started with the Grenadier Specialist, Drone and Turret Skills off the bat. I assume the Pre-Order gave me some decent stuff to start out with as I had a mixture of green, blue and purples in my loadout. After the quick entro solo run, made it to base where we hooked up and saw several "Agents" already at Level 37-40. All-in-all we had a good time, didn't get overwhelmed nor flying thru without effort. We weren't getting just crappy gear nor picking up the best...it was a good run to start out. I'll dive into the Recalibration part and look at the gear more tonight.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

I finally got a couple exotic weapons this weekend. First was the Diamond Back from the Heenly college quest line. Its okay. I then got Pestilence from a chest in either a territory control or a control point take over. This weapon is pretty sweet with my gunner build. It puts a stacking DoT on enemies that can do a lot of damage and kills them when they're hiding. When they die, they spread the DoT to nearby foes too. I need to try and find another exotic so i can take it apart and use the components to upgrade Pestilence.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

We completed the main quest in New York....it was really good and we had fun with the whole thing though last one was tough. Season has just started and see what that's all about but the new Leveling System after you break 40 is pretty good or at least so far it seems. It's a lot like say the Paragon Points in Diablo. Every time you level the point goes to the next "Discipline" where you have four places to put the point. Haven't messed with the Re calibration since the gear I'm getting is really no-where near max level to break down but you can break anything down for the Talents.

It was a bit weird jumping in with a friend who is now Level 10 in Washington with my other Character who is 500 and Level 30. I'm seeing all gear drop at Level 208-228 which is far below me and too high for my friend. He's seeing Level 25-27 enemies but his damage is right in line with what he sees playing solo. he'll play this week and next to see if he just wants to get the WoNY Expansion. I told him just keep your other character at Washington if you want to continue as is and play thru the story and start a new one in New York which is what I did.

Okay, what is the deal with gear mods now? I still get the mod drops, but have yet to get any armor that has slots for them like before the update.

It is so weird being in the middle of playing a game and have it do a big overhaul of a core feature like this one did with Gear 2.0.

They must have made exotic gear drop at a higher rate. I got two drops of the exotic kneepads with in 20 minutes of each other. Worked out great for me since I needed an exotic to deconstruct to upgrade Pestilence.

Yet to see my first exotic but a friend last night got her first. Heck...I'm trying to find decent Legendary gear to piece together. I find a manufacture set I like but the attributes are pathetic and no use messing the those until you actually have some decent ones to break down. Weapons on the other hand have been pretty good stat wise.

Re: The Division 2 (PS4, XB1, PC) 3/15/19

Warlords of New York is damn good - it feels like a dream to be able to complete missions solo (although still tough). They really do need to fix the UI in this game though - I mean it's not that it doesn't work it's too damn all over the place with its lines and layouts - I'm always afraid when it comes time to sell my stuff that I'll get rid of something I like by accident - I don't stash anything either.

Graphics are amazing - I put the first Division in the other day as well and they must of updated it because I think it looks even better than 2 - especially when it starts to snow.

So are exotics all random drops? I've put over 110 hrs into the game and don't think I've seen one drop ever.

I'm really after the exotic LMG and I've read that it randomly drops from Riker bosses, so I've been running The Tombs mission on Challenging over and over. I understand that it's a very rare drop, so I'm not too discouraged, but I just want to make sure I'm on the right track before I keep going.
