It means the more you battle, the more Royale you receive.

Basically.... 60 players enter and only 3 may leave. If that makes any sense.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Battle Royale is basically the title given to Free For All/Last Man Standing shooter/survival titles that accommodate a large number of players.

The main difference between Free for Alls and Battle Royale are that you generally start with no equipment, they normally occur on large maps, and it doesn't matter how many people you kill, just that you/your team survive.

You can also reference the movie Battle Royale.

Yeah... it's pretty crazy that you basically get dick for your kills, but the high numbers look great on a banner.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Sort of knew this was coming dashing everyone's hopes of revitalizing Titanfall...as we were told earlier....they are sitting on a gold mine with Titanfall and could make it and Apex even more compelling....t

Respawn Says It Is "Pushing Out Plans" For Upcoming Titanfall Games To Fully Support Apex Legends ......https://www.dualshockers.com/respawn...pcoming-games/

The majority of the post in question from Respawn talked about Apex Legends and the future of the game. Drew McCoy, the author of the post and an executive producer on Apex Legends, stated that the battle royale game grew far more quickly than they ever expected and as a result, the team at Respawn has had to respond fast. As a result, though, this growth has led to challenges that weren’t anticipated.

Finally, and perhaps most notable for some, is that Respawn says the success of Apex Legends has led to the developer altering plans for future games in the Titanfall series. “Additionally, in order to fully support Apex Legends, we are pushing out plans for future Titanfall games,” the message stated. “No resources from the Apex Legends team are being shifted to other titles in development here at the studio, nor are we pulling resources from the team working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.”

What’s interesting about this statement is that we were previously told that an additional Titanfall“experience” was slated to release later this year. Whether this is supposed title in question is still going to arrive has yet to be seen, but it seems like most of Respawn’s time and energy right now has been dedicated to Apex Legends

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

I have some buddies that kept bugging me about downloading the game for free, which I did, and played it for a little while. There are similarities to Fortnite. The difference is that Apex Legends is less cumbersome. I probably played for about an hour and got my ass kicked in every game until my final game of the night, where me and my squad won the championship. It's also from the Titanfall 2 creators, so some of the gameplay is familiar.

I'm still waiting for TF3 or some Titans added to this game. Still... this is the only thing I play right now.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

It's fun as hell. I've almost internalized the map and where to go and all that. What I'm having a hard time figuring out is the weapons and their ammo and the special shit that goes along with it. It's cumbersome, but I've only played for 3 days or so.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

New update today - they have solo mode where you can play in the battle royale without squadmates. It's still pretty hard. I ranked #8 in my best game with only two kills. It has even more running around since it's just you out in the open. They also included new bonuses and banners. It's a limited release and will conclude in 2 weeks.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Solos is interesting but I ran into a couple of players that were "teaming up" last night. Theres been a few reports of this happening.

Already given EA/Respawn enough cash for this game, not about to spend another $200 on loot boxes.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Yeah, I went back to playing with squads. Had some shitty games before I teamed up with a couple of cats and we won one championship and ranked in the top-3 the next two-three games, so that was a nice self-esteem booster.

There's some new gameplay and there's a new shotgun & sniper mode. It's 2.5GB, which came out today.

Don't forget the $18 skins in the store.

The new mode is interesting because they've disabled Level 2-4 armors.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

I was really hoping for the Volt SMG. The new map should be interesting.

They really do have an excellent voice cast. I fucking love Lifeline.

Would be nice if they could create a tv series.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Just played a few rounds and ended up winning my first season 3 game, which was nice. There's a new energy plasma rifle and the map is huge, but it's much more spread out. There's only a few areas where you can really camp, but I've yet to cover the entire map yet, so it will take getting used to. I did notice that if you get caught in the heat shield when the map closes up it vaporizes much faster than before.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

Maybe I'm landing in the wrong places, but the loot so far has been pretty crappy for this map. I also don't care for some of the weapon changes (specifically the R-99), but I do like the double-tab on the EVA8.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

I've noticed that there's plenty more loot. The only times I get screwed on it iswhen another party lands in our same area, or greedy teammates hog up the weapons. It's a really wide map, with lots of running and exploring about.

Re: Apex Legends (From Respawn)

I've taken a much better liking to the weapons upgrades and new map overall than the last one. In King's Canyon I won a total of 11 games with the Wattson character the entire season 2. I've already won 9 with Wattson this week alone in season 3. I'm guessing that the way the map is spread out is tiring out some players, or maybe some of the more experienced players have called it a day. The map is pretty huge. The gun upgrade and attachments is also really neat and my weapons of choice (pairings) is the G7 Scout and the Flatline. If you get the hop-ups for those two guns then it is on. Although, for close quarters, they added a hop-up for the EVO Shotgun (auto-shotgun) and I annihilated a team in close-quarters with that thing - it was unreal at how fast and powerful it was. Again, it only benefits you for close quarters, so use it sparingly.

New mode is live!

It's quite scary, too.
