It seems that Playstation has the better exclusives though.... I wouldn't mind getting another system, but I'd like to get a switch first....

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
Agreed, PS4 easily had the superior exclusives. But Bloodborne was my game.of this gen so I may be bias.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
I mean, it’s really what you like. I might want to play 1 or 2, but just love the Xbox exclusives so much, but I might be biased since Halo may be my game of all-time! ;)

But when MS or Sony picks up some Studio who was pumping out games for everyone, sadly one side is going to loose out...but it also can have a $$$$ effect on the studio as well. I'll bet that at least 65% of The Outer Worlds sales have been on PS4. So when they release "Grounded"...where are they going to make up those lost sales? |
Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
When is this patch supposed to come out?

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
Damn, I seem to have a bug keeping me from progressing. I’m on the last section of the game, and I open a door with a terminal, walk through, and it crashes every time. I can’t do anything to progress. Hopefully the patch fixes it.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
so i saw the patch was installed. anyone see a big difference? is font larger?
|
Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
The patch cleared up the glitch that didn't let me progress.
Also, to get the larger font you have to enable it in the options. I did, and it was much better. I have to say I don't know if I played the game poorly, but this game went from easy to super difficult on that last world. I died more on this last world than I did in the rest of the game by far. I think I died once before getting there, and probably died 4 or 5 times on there, and this is on normal difficulty. |
Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
If any PS4 owners want to get this, it's going to be on sale at Target for $35. I'm probably going to get it.

NICE, thanks. I've been tempted by the $44.99 sale so this is much better.
If you want it at $44.99, I'd jump on it now or wait for an eventual drop in price. |

Target only had it for $35 for a short bit, starting late last night, for Red Card Holders. It's no longer at that price.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
I started playing this over the weekend and I'm enjoying it. I have died a couple of times in Edgewater, but I discovered a light machine gun with 320 DPS and add a shock mod and I started to light up the robots in the Geothermal plant. I have one more sidequest left in Edgewater, I have to find the other two books for Thomas and then I'm flying out of there. I have found that lockpicks are hard to find. I'm around a 30 in lockpicking, but I have been finding some locks that require 5 picks in Edgewater and I'm leaving them since I can't pick them. Also, do you get a chance to earn a lot more money later on. I'm only at 3000 bits after completing nearly ever sidequest in Edgewater. I only spent 320 bits on the machine gun, but I was kicking myself after buying it since I found one for free at the Geothermal plant...

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
For me, it ended up being the same as most other RPGs. At first money seems sparse, but later on you have a ton of money, but you don't know what to spend it on. Usually any weapon for sale you can find in the world. I think I purchased one or two weapons at most, and maybe a couple of pieces of armor. Playing through again, I would probably spend more of my money to round out my armor to get me all stat bonuses and leave them on the ship for when needed.
I ended up buying every lockpicking/computer hacking item from every vending machine I came across. As you get better at lockpicking, these locks require less and less picks, but then some require a skill of 100 lockpicking so you can have 200 in your inventory, and it doesn't make a difference, which annoyed me a bit. |

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
I just completed the Stellar Bay world. I really like this game, but I feel like headshots should do more damage. I'll slow time and headshot a marauder with a sniper rifle and all it does it blind them. I have to shoot them four or five more times in the head before they die... Nyoka just joined my crew and her primary gun is crazy powerful over 1000 DPS and my current best weapon is an Ultra Assault rifle with 629 DPS. I like to loot everything, so I'm always encumbered. I had to use a perk point so I can fast travel while I'm encumbered.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
I had that issue with headshots at first, but then I picked up a rifle with much higher DPS, put a sniper scope on it, and I was exploding heads very quickly.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
Finished this last night. Loved it. Had a great time with that final boss battle, and really enjoyed the character wrap-up at the end. Excellent overall game.

Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
I finished the game tonight. I feel like I did most of the sidequests. I didn't work for Sublight though or do the Halcyon line of missions. I mainly rolled with Parvati and Ellie as my companions. I found the final boss to be fairly challenging. I died a couple of times,
Spoiler:
I feel like I would have had an easier time if I had done that.... Overall, it's a very good game. I hope they make a lot of DLC since I won't be able to play a sequel unless I buy an Xbox. |
Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
Picked this up over the weekend. I knew I would love it and it hasn't disappointed. I'm up to lvl22; doing everything I can to take in the world/lore. I don't think I'm very far into the story but I've done a bunch of side/companion quests.
Only gripe for now is that ever since I found a gun I liked and fully modded/tweaked it as high as it could go for now, everything is a bit too easy. |
