Re: Black Friday 2018

I went a little crazy this year, but the deals were great. I probably have enough games to play for two or three years now.... Here's my complete haul:

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition PS4 $19.99 (Best Buy)
South Park Stick of Truth PS4 $16.99 (Best Buy)
Final Fantasy X and X-2 Remastered PS4 $17.99 (Amazon)
Mutant Football League Dynasty Edition PS4 $19.99 (Best Buy)
Assassin's Creed Odyssey PS4 $29.99 (Best Buy)
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection $9.99 (Gamestop)
The Last of Us Remastered $14.99 (Gamestop)
The Wolf Among Us (Used) $14.99 (Gamestop)
God of War for $17 at (Gamestop)
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete $9.99 (Gamestop)
GTA V Premium Online Edition $19.99 (Gamestop)
L.A. Noire $14.99 (Gamestop)
Far Cry 5 $19.99 (Best Buy)
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age $14.88 (Amazon)
Stardew Valley: Collector's Edition $17.99 (Amazon)

I was interested in getting Madden 19, Dragon Quest 11, and Fallout 4, but I think I can wait on them. I have Mutant Football League to play instead of Madden and maybe Fallout 4 and Dragon Quest 11 will be $19.99 next year. I wish that I would have waited on Assassin's Creed Odyssey too since Gamestop still has them online today for $27. I could have saved $3.

Not much for me. The only stuff I bought was:

2 years of PS+ and the Berry Blue Dualshock 4.

This. I got a 65 inch C8 and it’s amazing. Even my wife who isn’t really into tech and high def loves it.

Target has Monster Hunter World and Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition for $15. That's the cheapest price around. I wish I had know about it earlier.

Is there a good deal on PS+ anywhere? Otherwise I did my annual buy of a new DualShock 4 at a "reasonable" $40 price and I don't know that I'll be getting any games. Probably Battlefield V soon.

A lot of stores have a sale on it. $40 for 12 months.

Picked up the Kirby game for the Switch, $35 at Walmart.

Completely forgot to look for Pokken Tournament although $35 doesn't feel like that good of a deal for that one with Smash coming out in another week or so.

Nothing for me so far. I'm backlogged on games as it is and basically already have all the games that i've been really wanting to play.

I might cave in a get a small indie game or something on XBL, been thinking about grabbing Dead Cells. Or maybe the backwards compatible Final Fantasy 13 games.

I got/ordered

New Nintendo 2ds Xl Hylian Shield edition
Xenoblade Chronicles 3ds
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete
Uncharted 4
Earth Defense Force 4.1
Kingdom Hearts Collection : Story so Far
Shenmue 1 and 2

Also got the 1 year Ps Plus for $39 and the Dell $29 PlayStation Controller.

This is a lot for as I am not really a hardcore gamer but I guess I’ve decided gaming is my hobby.

Already had too much but one game was on my list...God of War...and at $22.00 on the PS Store....that's turned out to be the best money I've spent in a long time...well this and AC: Origins which I got half off awhile back. You can get both of them for the price of a new game now....

...and that Far Cry 5 price at Best Buy, a heck-of-a-deal....one fun game...

I stopped at Target and got one more game Monster Hunter World for $15. I was thinking about getting Overwatch for $15 too, but I decided not too..

I also went to Gamestop to get a Playstation Plus one year subscription for $39.99. I thought I was going to get a gift card, but it was just a code that they printed out on a receipt for me. They also charged sales tax on it too...

I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition of Jurassic World Evolution and the Euro Fishing Season Pass on PS4. On Xbox, I grabbed the Game Of The Year Edition of Shadow Of Mordor and Ms. Pac Man.

I went a little different with my Black Friday gaming purchase...

https://i.imgur.com/KzTkyz4l.jpg

I've been slowly rebuilding my gaming collection that I sold/traded in years ago. Bought an original Xbox a couple months ago. I've been rebuilding my Gamecube collection (playing them on a Wii).

Then this popped up on FB Marketplace this morning in my area. Couldn't pass it up. The system and all the controllers are in perfect/mint condidition. Now I just need some games. With the Rare collection, various Mario & Zelda re-releases, I don't need a ton, but Mario Kart and Goldeneye aren't going to come cheap. Those will come later. I picked up Pod Racer & Quarterback Club 98 for $3 at Half-Price, and Wave Race for $5 at at GameXchange.

That leaves an actual Gamecube console purchase in my future (the Wii OS sucks for GCN games) and as far as games go, I'm down to Mario Kart Double Dash which runs $40 on average.

Welp, ended up buying something gaming related by buying a new video card. RTX 2070 for $485. Time to flip back to more PC games.

I very rarely go for the transparent look but that is a gorgeous set, particularly in 2018. Are you going to look for a 4th color controller?

No mention of price, so I'm guessing it either cost what you'd think or was an absolute screaming deal..

Michael Corvin 11-24-18 09:17 PM

Re: Black Friday 2018

Yeah, I've never liked the translucent look on electronics but this set is just gorgeous.

I do have a gold controller I kept from the original release, so I have four. However, with how good looking the translucent is, I'm going to have to get a fourth translucent one. I'm leaning toward the ice blue.

$140 for everything. $100 for the console + matching controller. $20 each for the other controllers. I'd say a average deal looking at prices on ebay. Plus seeing the quality first hand before buying was worth a little $$ in my eyes. Seller also hooked it up so I could test it out first.

Re: Black Friday 2018

Corvin, PM me down the line once you want to start building up your Gamecube collection. I'm not 100% sure if I still have my console or not, but I do have some more of the rare games in storage that I could look into unloading (Double Dash, Eternal Darkness, Sunshine, Wind Waker, Smash, etc). I packed everything up since we are looking at moving next year and I know they won't be coming back out of the boxes anytime soon. It's just a matter of finding them.
