That's cool. The box was visibly different from new and they didn't question it?

Nope. She just slid it out to make sure the console was in there.

Weird that Legend Of Dragoon is not included on the preloaded games. I thought that was a first party game?

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Every time I think about grabbing one of these at the $!5 price point I re-look at the game list and realize the only thing I'm mildly interested in is Super Puzzle Fighter.

I'll likely just look for a digital version of that game for an existing system and buy that there. Anyone know who has it?

For $15 it's an easy decision, as you can mod it and emulate a ton of stuff.

Yeah, I mean, nobody's been talking about picking this up for use as-is. Not even at the clearance prices.

If I was going to bother with modding and emulating it, I'd just do it with a PC and use a PS4 controller.

That's great, if you only want to play it at your PC. If you want to be able to play it on any TV, it's not very convenient.

Right on. People seem to like small cheap emulator devices, there's also a wireless adapter for PS4 pads and/or swapping tbe main emulator for wired support.

It's a pretty powerful device for the money.

That said, it runs Dreamcast titles better than my Pi3 but still not perfectly.

I gave my daughter one of these for her birthday last night. I'll have to try it out this weekend. I've been waiting decades to play Puzzle Fighter, haha

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Super Puzzle Fighter was not what I was expecting. I thought the little characters fought when you got combos. Also, I havent really figured out how to make the good combos yet.

My daughter has been playing the classic a lot. Mainly puzzle fighter but also some of the Oddworld game.

Is it like Pokemon Puzzle League? You're solving Tetris-esque puzzles and it's Pokemon themed.

Heck, Pokemon Puzzle League isn't Tetris either. Well, it is Tetris Attack but that's a Western rename.

No matter how much they discount this, I don't think it's worth it. I'm sure most who pre-maturely bought this last year probably aren't even playing it anymore.

I think Sony probably just marked this down as a disappointing loss last year.

At 20 bucks for an emulator with built in controller support it's probably worth it if you're going to put some time into it. It's probably cheaper at 20 bucks than most of those horrid multi game mini consoles that come out from third party manufacturers.

Yep. The point has been made, numerous times in this thread, but people don't seem to get it.

They've only currently dropped to about $40, in Canada. I'd definitely pick one up in the $20 range.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I still use mine extensively, albeit only Driller, Puzzle Fighter and IQ of the originals - which to be fair is more than I play on my boxed up NES and SNES Classics. I paid waaay too much, but it's a solid piece of hardware.

For some reason, all the Wal-Mart stores in my area marked them back up to $59.99. They have a ton of them inside the locked cases. They will be sitting there for a very long time.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I picked one up at a Canadian Walmart for $30.

Pretty neat little device. Super easy to mod, so I've got a ton of games on it, already.

Biggest complaint is that the D-pad on the controllers is pretty shitty. I'll have to pick up a different controller to use with it.

I tried to get an old Soul Calibur 2 fight stick to work with it, but no luck, yet.

I also can't figure out how to get it to play 8-bit Atari games. I've got the Atari 2600 games working, fine, but there were a lot of 8-bit Atari games that I liked.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I ended up finally getting one. I'm glad I cancelled my preorder for it. I would have been mad if I paid full price. $20 is worth it to play Final Fantasy 7 and Wild Arms.

Do they sell individual second controllers for this? I don’t seem to see an official one online.
