Games you love or like, but have no idea what the story is and don't care?
 

so there has to be some games that you just play bc they are goddamn fun.

Borderlands jumps to my mind. i couldn't tell you what it was about, but i had a hell of a lot of fun finishing it. Bulletstorm right now. i like the blasting different enemies and splitting them in 2 or what not, but i have no idea, really, what i'm doing or why i'm doing it. even now, playing with this crooked commander, Sarrano to get to his getaway ship, i guess, i don't care. just like blowing stuff up in cool fashion.

so what are some games you've played, loved or liked, but couldn't care less about story, this particular time?

Pretty much any video game for me. Robotnik stole the Chaos Emaralds again? Meh. Bowser kidnapped the princess again? Sigh. If the level design is on point I will play it till my fingers are calloused.

But Magic:The Gathering? I only buy the cards to experience the world and it’s characters. Sometimes I play an actual duel with my so or wife.

I played Halo 1-3 and couldn’t tell you a damn thing about the story

I lost interest in anything Resident Evil 4 and beyond as the story got too convoluted.

but, you got into RE4, right? that was a pretty simple one. i know Halo has so much lore and i know ok. really all about John to me...

Dark Souls.

I mean, I've only played #3 which is probably the problem, but yeah.

Sup Ashen One, go do this stuff and get souls.

At least Bloodborne seemed coherent in spurts.

Nope I’m probably one of the few people that absolutely hates 4 and felt it was the beginning of a long downfall of the series. Revelations was pretty good and 7 was good till the last part but it’s never fully recovered.

Destiny, Destiny 2 and most likely, Destiny 3. :D

I don't hate it but 4 is easily my least favorite RE game (I've never played 3 or 6).

I like Kingdom Hearts. I have no idea what the story is beyond the very basics, though. You'd think a mash up of Disney and Final Fantasy characters would be kind of straightforward, but nope.

I don't know if this counts, but I don't care at all about the modern-day elements of the Assassin's Creed games. I don't care about how each game is connected, except for the trilogy with the same character (Ezio).

I didn't really pay much attention to the story line of Rise of the Tomb Raider, but I enjoyed playing it.

I didn't understand the backstory in Unravel, and loved the game. I just know that it gave a huge sense of loss and with the feel and music - it was the saddest game I've ever played.

Final Fantasy XV. I really enjoyed it, but it's probably one of the worst put together stories in an RPG that i've ever played.

The modern TR games are some of my favorite but I couldn't tell you anything about the stories. They are pretty convoluted and dumb especially when the supernatural stuff kicks in. I'm in it for the traversal and action.

No kidding. I played Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 when they came out, but I watched the trailer for 3 today and thought, <i>I have no memory whatsoever of what this villain is talking about or what his evil organization is. I have zero recollection of the plot for the previous games beyond "Disney worlds are in trouble from bad guys. Stop bad guys."</i>

For about two seconds I considered playing the first two games again to get up to speed. Then I realized I have better things to do with my life than care about the plot to Kingdom Hearts. Like, literally anything else is more important.

I actually just finished up a replay of the first one today and the story for it is fairly straightforward I think it's the side games and KH2 where it starts getting really convoluted.

Perfectly describes my play-through of FFX-2. Didn't care for FFX too much but X-2 had an amazing battle system. Skipped every piece of story and ended up putting like 80 hours into the game with almost a 100% clear. To this day, I have no idea what the story was about.

I only vaguely know what's going on with the factions in Skyrim. I enjoyed playing it, and doing all the quests, but I skip through some of the dialogue so fast that I don't even remember who is who.
