Games you found the most addictive?
sometimes when i play a certain game, i get so addicted, that i think about when i can play and for how long.
in my case, i played and finished Borderlands when it first came out and now revisiting again, I'm hooked all over again. others haven't done that, but this one is so addictive...

This can go back some but one's that I really played the heck out of...
Unreal Tournament on PC ...just a blast and hoot with the voice packs and mods.....wore out keyboards and mice over this one.
Dynasty Warriors 2 on PS2....couldn't get enough of seeing bodies flying everywhere, hilarious and each character was a blast.
Gears of War 1,2 & 3...but mainly Horde Mode....spent many night staying up way late with this and still one of the best co-op times I ever had.
Diablo III on 360...we grabbed it day one and couldn't put it down. The top-down demon slayer provided constant fun, laughs that had yo always coming back for more.
Borderlands 1...what can one say, something new, fresh, wacky especially the opening scene with the original characters. Knew it was going to be a fun ride and it was.
Left4Dead...the ultimate co-op blast experience. Just a hoot with all the different weapons, characters while providing the right blend of humor and scare.
Dying Light...PS4....great game and frankly ...at night...gave you the scare. Well laid out, plenty to do, great design and with Buggies running over Zombies, who wouldn't like that
Halo....the first one pretty much ignited console gaming on the first Xbox. I can remember the DVD Talk bunch on that one and the MP Modes. Great story and action...The Fight Club mode was insane funny....

The one that sticks out for me is Morrowind. It was the first open-world, western style RPG I played. I was completely hooked. I'd think about it all day at work and rush home to play more every day. No Elder Scrolls game since has had the same effect since they have all leveled with your character. Learning of and trying to obtain rare/high level items in Morrowind was half the addiction.

Despite having a massive backlog, I keep coming back to Civilization 4. It just sucks me in every time. However, I put the most hours into Starcraft. Still the most intense multiplayer experience I ever had.

Like others here, I could probably list an endless amount of games but if I had to list ones I've found addicting even in the last 10 years:
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Street Fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition/Ultra Street Fighter IV
Horizon Zero Dawn
God of War
Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu!
The Last of Us
Mass Effect 2
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Street Fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition/Ultra Street Fighter IV
Horizon Zero Dawn
God of War
Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu!
The Last of Us
Mass Effect 2

Re: Games you found the most addictive?
Everquest. To the extent it was kind of unhealthy.
I’ve had other games (WOW, most Fallout, Tetris, various RPGs) that I’ve played excessively, but that was the only one with game mechanics where I’d get mad if my wife wanted to do something else in like 2 hours, and play for hour after hour after hour with no stops. It was the whole camping mechanic (you could spend 30-60 minutes getting to some spot in a cave where you then parked yourself for hours waiting for 1 spawn every 22 minutes) plus having to retrieve your corpse or lose all your stuff. This has never been nearly as bad in any other game I’ve played as it was in that. I finally quit by giving away my account.

Re: Games you found the most addictive?
Yeah, Borderlands is pretty high up there on the addicting scale.
Not as much, but I found Destiny to addicting as well, getting that light level up - lol! I did find it's game play to be fun, so that helped.
Clearing bases on Just Cause 2 was really addicting, but not in any other JC game, for some reason.
Bloodborne, just to see what's around the next corner, and also keeping at it to beat bosses, was addicting as hell. Same with Zelda: Breath of the Wild - exploring that world was very addicting, as is the new Assassins Creed Odyssey, and uncovering it's expansive map. Same with Skyrim.

I get really addicted to open world games like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed Origins. I play the shit out of them. When I was really into Horizon Zero Dawn, I literally began having dreams in that world, doing that sort of hunting. That's how immersive (and obsessive) it can become..

Oh, and does Pokemon Go count? I shudder to think the amount of hours I put in it. Way over 1,000. Quit it when I became a mom.
