I got the platinum the other day, one of the easier ones to get. Great game.

I definitely wouldn't say it is one of the easiest to get considering you have to play like 50 hours to do it. There are tons of platinum's that you can get in an hour or two.

My Name is Mayo 1 and 2 will net you a couple of easy plays. GOT is a long haul, in my opinion.

Well, sure. I’m not talking about those Telltalle games or smaller games. But it sure was the easiest Platinum I’ve gotten for a game of this scope. They could have easily made trophies requiring you to find every single record, cricket, dye variant, etc. Or to headshot 100 guys with each bow. The time commitment really didn’t factor into it for me. I did have to look up a few things, and spent a few hours “wrapping up”, but it was all manageable.

yah, I rate the easiness of platinum by how much clean-up time I need after beating it. Got this in I think 2 extra nights. no extra playthru, no hard difficulty, no multiplayer requirements.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I'm wrapping up myself before finishing the main story. I only need to track down a few more items for the bigger collection trophy (shrines, bamboo, crickets, etc.). This is the best kind of Platinum to shoot for because of what redbill said. Sure it's a time sink, but everything is pretty manageable and even doable without looking things up online. There are no excruciatingly brutal trophies to worry about, like clear a Mongol camp without taking a hit, or clear a camp only using stealth kills, or beat a Strawhat without using a finishing move, etc.

Awesome Crossover Costumes that you can unlock via Multiplayer until 1/15/21!

Sadly, I hear the skins don't transfer over to Single-Player mode.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

So I finally wrapped this up last week. I was thinking this would be neck and neck with Miles Morales for my GOTY, but Tsushima pulled ahead when the Taka storyline played out.

So after largely giving up achievement/trophy hunting on the PS4/XBO, this became my 6th Platinum ever, which joined Miles Morales and Astro all in the last month. lol
So after that I noticed there was a New Game+ trophy just for completing the game again. It's ultra rare sitting at .8% of people earning it. I went for it. Played through the entire story a second time. They added an extra level to all armor and weapons to unlock. Upgraded my favorite armor, but that's about all I could earn without grinding side missions.

I haven't looked at my total playtime, but it's definitely GOTY for me.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I wish this game would go on sale again. I finally finished the last of my PS4 backlog this past weekend and wanted to trade in a bunch of games and pick this up. I figured when it was being sold for 39.99 everywhere in November/December that would be the standard price with a sale price of 30 dollars popping up around now. Gamestop and most others are holding steady at 60. I wonder how long it will be before it becomes a "PlayStation Hits" game?

I didn’t know they had the vinyl soundtrack. BTW, price is in Canadian dollars.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I’ve been playing steadily since the holidays and am about 2/3 through.

It’s gorgeous as everyone has said (and I just got a new TV), and I grew up on samurai movies so I like feeling like I’m in one. I’m generally bad at multi-button combos and I got killed regularly in the beginning, but I’ve figured out the stances and am usually able to hit enough buttons to do damage.

I like the story and how it has some moral ambiguity to it. More than once I’ve wondered whether my deciding to go off and kill someone based on hearsay is really the best course of action.

Would like to see DLC that takes the action to the mainland.

I would imagine they would save that for a sequel.

Without making a 'Spoiler"....to those who have finished it....it's pretty obvious of 1-2 ways the next Ghost will go....the question will be....will we get Jin or another Jin along with new or old Friends.....i also have a feeling that Tomoe, the pupil of Sensei might be a prominant player.

I just finished the last few missions of act 2. Wow, so much going on there.

Totally agree. Finished this yesterday, and Act 3 was absolutely epic. One of the best endings of one of the best games I've ever played (and that's saying a lot). Just fantastic in every way.

Need to get back to this. TBH, I found it to be a bit dull, but admittedly, I only got a few hours into it - still at the first act.

FWIW, I felt the same at first, but it just builds and builds and builds.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I finished the game and thought it was a great experience. I didn’t expect the ending, but it seemed appropriate. I didn’t achieve platinum for whatever reason (maybe because I was short several artifacts and vanity gear), but I decided to start again on Game+. I honestly wasn’t sure how long I’d continue, but I’m close to the end of act 2 and am enjoying reliving the story and using my upgraded gear. I’m even getting better at the duels! And it’s nice not having to worry about clearing the map. I’m also using the winds to try to track down the remaining artifacts and stuff.

On default difficulty, I did find myself wandering around empty (though beautiful) landscapes quite a bit. But I think the story is worth hanging in for.

Not sure what you mean. Do you think it ends too abruptly?

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

^ Did you purchase the "bloody" upgrade with the first merchant in New Game +? It might have been there in the regular game but I never ran across him again until NG+.

I liked that NG+ unlocked an additional level upgrade for every item & armor. I wasn't a fan of having all my money, hides, flowers, etc. getting wiped, forcing you to play side missions & hunt again to attain those upgrades. It would have been more fun to just start leveling up as soon as you start NG+. So I only managed to upgrade my favorite armor and that was it, IIRC.

I didn’t get that one because it didn’t sound all that appealing to me. But yeah, I think all those merchant’s charms are new to +, and some of the negative ones are hilarious. I bought the one that lets me pet mongol dogs but haven’t tried it yet,

And yeah, it’s a bit of a pain to rebuild the resources even with the charm that gives you extra stuff. It could’ve been worse, though. When I first started +, I keep getting killed because I had no armor then discovered I still had it and just needed to put it on.

I like the hallucination darts but preferred the same tactic in Shadow of Mordor, which affected more enemies and didn’t require resources.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

Which armor do people use for general combat and duels? 90% of the time I use ghost or traveling, but for straight fighting I started out using Gosaku for the stagger but have switched to samurai clan for the resolve gains.

I’m about halfway through act 3 on NG+ and think I’ll be done after this. I now have only a few artifacts and stuff left to find. Most of my missing banners were in act 1.

For those who finished the game,
Spoiler:
what did you decide about Lord Shimura? I killed him like I assume most people did, and I guess there’s not much difference story-wise. They sure did get dramatic with the confirm buttons, though.
