Looks like a full on remake rather than a remaster job like Zero and 1. =)
I just hope it isn't a PS4 exclusive and makes it's way to PC. |

Resident Evil 2 is the game I've revisited the most over time and I still consider it my top game. Not sure how I feel about a remake. If they keep the core story there and add to it (within reason) I'll be excited. If they include more bullshit story like what started with that god awful RE4 (yes I know, I'm in the minority) this will be massively disappointing. I'll be intrigued by reviews because this could make me pick up a PS4 again (well this and Last of Us 2)

I'm not a fan of the change in game play. I'd rather have a remaster, but we'll see as it gets closer to release date.

I welcome a gameplay update. Back in the day I was never fond of the "tank-like" controls of the first 3 RE games. Which was one of the major reasons RE4 became one my favorite in the franchise.
I love the gameplay of Revelations 2 though, and if they utilize that for RE2 Remake, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I did not like RE7, and I couldn't even play it for more than a few minutes at a time before getting motion sickness and that was with the wobble turned off n stuff.... The game just wasn't for me. |

Are you talking about the original Resident Evil or the remake that came out for the GameCube? I don't think the original was ever remastered but the remake was, along with Resident Evil Zero (they were released in that "Origins" collection last year).
This version of RE 2 is more in line with a darker RE 4. |

If you've played RE4 a lot, you tend to notice that Leon is pretty quick. He controls and moves a lot faster than other games designed in a similar manner. When it comes to RE2R, Leon has been described as slower/heavier. This probably has a lot to do with his limited combat experience, as we will not see him jump kicking, suplexing or QTE'ing away from hazards or enemies.

The above video shows off what I hate about that camera perspective.
If they just moved the viewing angle back a little it would be more cinematic, better field of view, and you wouldn't have a blocked camera every time the action gets close to you. |

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2 will be getting a special Steelbook Edition in Europe, featuring - as the name suggests - a fancy steelbook with unique artwork, and an Elza Walker costume as bonus DLC, decking Claire Redfield out in red and white biker duds. If you're unfamiliar with Resident Evil 2 development lore, Elza Walker was originally going to be the second character alongside Leon S. Kennedy in a earlier version of the RE sequel, which was eventually scrapped. Claire Redfield was ultimately introduced as protagonist, and Elza Walker was lost to the history books. Elza did have blonde hair, however. |
