A lot of people seemed to be over Gears of War, but I still really enjoyed Gears of War 4 and looking forward to this.

It may not mean anything, but it's interesting to me that they're calling it Gears 5 rather then Gears of War 5. Also, I mentioned this in the E3 thread but I assume they saw that fans didn't give a shit about JD so they're focusing on Kait, which is pretty cool to me.

agreed Kait being the main, plus I can't wait to see how they got to where the story picks up at. WTF! JD's arm, scar and changing of Face/head hair

didn't noticed until today that TACTICS is a PC game.

so i'm trying to play through the series. starting with 1, obviously. is there an indicator for health bar? i see the red in the middle get redder and redder, but is that it? no way to know how full or what not?

It doesn’t have a traditional health meter. If you see the red gear in the middle of the screen, you’re hurting. The redder it gets, the closer you are to death. When the gear fades away, you’re completely good to go.

Yeah, I saw that. Was this known to be a difficult game? I was playing 1 on normal and just getting ass kicked in just the first act. I was a little disoriented with controls and movement. I am a mostly FPS and 3rd person throws me off sometimes and don’t love as much as FPS. But this just plays kinda different as a 3rd person action shooter. Can’t put finger on it. I think that’s why I gave up on 1 and think 2 bc of the difficulty...

The game is all about cover based shooting. You have to stay behind cover as much as possible and move from cover to cover or you won't last long.

Yeah that makes sense in why I abandoned first time. I’m more run and gun, but I’ll give it another go...

Will this be cross platform playable...in other words if I play on the PC (XBL account)...can I hook up with XB1 players?

Cool...GOW and Halo were it for me back in my 360 days. I still have my XBL account but never did get a XB1...went with PS4...I'd love to pick this up and play with others again...thanks.

Heads-up : Free weapon skins by unlocking at least one Achievement in every Gears game. Easy to do, and retroactive so if you ever unlocked one, you are covered for that game.

I don’t get the big thing about skins. It just changes look right? Not functionality. I don’t even look at my weapon color. I just shoot...

Well...back then these skins were actually pretty cool and there was some wild looking ones....funny how old this is yet look at today with Fortnight, Apex and other games touting endless skins yet for real $$$$

So...do they want players to actually go back and do something in all these Gears games?...I still have the first four but for the 360....

It's retroactive so if you popped a single achievement in each you don't have to do anything. If you didn't, you can play all of them with Game Pass. All have an Achievement pop within the first 15-20 minutes of game play I think. If anyone with Game Pass wanted to get those skins it wouldn't be difficult even if they had never played a Gears game before, it would however take a lot of downloading. The skins unlock in Gears 4 as well, BTW.

What's the Ultimate Edition...that's one I did not get or have...I do have Judgement but have played it on the PC.

It's Gears 1 remastered for the X1. You will need to play that for a few minutes to pop an Achievement in it.
