So why bc I have Game Pass did Gears 5 download 54 Gb to Xbox? It says on page I guess you play for free on pc with GP, but certainly not the consoles. And I did cancel preorder. What gives?

I think it's part of a big push toward the Game Pass/Ultimate Game Pass subscriptions. I ended up swinging 3 different deals to get 5 months of GP Ultimate for $12 mostly to play Gears.

Surprisingly, Gears has 19 different pride flags available for multiplayer, including gay, trans poly and gender fluid.
Is that a first for such a big game? Wonder if that will cause a pushback from the dudebros, or lead to even more harassment during multiplayer?

The ad they keep playing for this on Adult Swim is just bad. I know it doesn't reflect the game but c'mon, put some money into advertising properly.

So what's going on with GoW5 now...I haven't seen much except a handful of reviews, some saying it's one of the best looking games out there and one site saying the servers had and has issues since day one. I tried to sign into XBL on my PC the other day and couldn't. I'm cancelling my pre-order (PS4) with Ghost Recon breakpoint....long story...and saw stuff on GoW5 on sites and actually giving the game a thought if I can play with others (on the XB1).

I had a good time, but it's awfully buggy. I ran into one infinite 'Saving Checkpoint' error, requiring a restart. It wiped out all my collectibles from early in the game. Even though I just beat the friggin' game, it says I'm only 60% complete, having forgotten that I completed chapters 2 and 3 of Act II. There are achievements I've completed that aren't popping. (I got all 7 of Jack's Ultimate perks, and it says I'm only 85% complete.) And, y'know, stuff like this:



(Shortly after this, I died after falling through the world, unsurprisingly.)

The list of problems keeps going from there, including its strange approach to difficulty. The boss encounter in Act II is orders of magnitude more difficult than anything else in the game, and a couple of Jack's abilities that you get in Act III are so overpowered as to be near-game-breaking. But I had a blast anyway. It's a massive step up from Gears 4. There's a choice late in the game that...well, it's not satisfying and comes out of nowhere, but I'm very curious to see how they'll approach it in Gears 6. It's gorgeous on the XB1X -- one of the few 4K-ish, 60fps games on the system -- and it's a treat for the ears if you have a solid Atmos setup. Still, if you're not desperate to play right now, I'd suggest waiting for some of these rough spots to be ironed out.

Anyone having overheating issues with this on Xbox One X? Playing on Game Pass. Seems like I'm not the only one. Several threads on various sites about it. My xbox is in a well ventilated open entertainment center, with at least 6-8 inches on top and a foot on either side. :/

Fuck I'm loving the campaign.All the added stuff and improvements make the game fun. And it looks fucking amazing on the "X" and my new 65" Vizio (PX65-G1).

Playing solo, some of those side missions are a bitch, but after many deaths and retries... success. This game is awesome! Matriarc!!
