Now that the lancer reload and chainsaw button is set to RB I am having issues trying to get my reload's done for every quick press as it would get no reponse. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Also not sure if its a glitch but when setting the loadout and placing gnasher on left and lancer on right it does not always work. 90% of the time it goes back to the default of lancer left and gnasher right.

some of those side missions are a bitch, but after many deaths and retries... success. This game is awesome!

This game is pretty to look at but not much fun to play. I'm about half way through Act 3 and ready for it to end. The open world element isn't helping either. I was a little surprised by the high scores, but that may have to do more with multiplayer. This game is in desperate need of a reboot like God of War received.

My favorite feature about this game are Halo: Reach Spartans in horde mode. I always wanted a Halo-ish 3rd person shooter. Closest thing to that were Star Wars: Battlefront games or 2010's Vanquish.

“We’re evolving your Gears 5 multiplayer experience with four new characters: the COG Gear, the DeeBee, the Warden and General RAAM, the ruthless Locust military leader,” Microsoft’s Dana Sissons announced. “Every character added to Gears 5 will feature powerful multiplayer abilities to master. These new Heroes and Villains are available today and can be earned through gameplay or purchased in the in-game store.”
Additionally, Microsoft is updating Gears 5 with two new characters from the movie Terminator Dark Fate: Grace, featuring the voice of actress Mackenzie Davis, and the new Terminator model Rev-9. Microsoft previously added two other Terminator characters, T-800 Endoskeleton and Sarah O’Conner, the latter of which is voiced by actress Linda Hamilton.
The COG Gear, the DeeBee, the Warden, and RAAM characters can earned through gameplay or by purchasing them for 500 Iron (in-game currency) each. The Terminator Dark Fate characters are as set for $20.

It's a 20 wave Horde event, where COG Heroes go head to head with Swarm enemies wearing Juvie Pumpkin Heads, Frankenstein's Imago, and Sires. If players complete 60 waves of Mad Man's Monsters, they'll get 13 Jack-O-Lantern weapon skins, such as the Jack-O-Lantern Retro Lancer shown above.
Pumpkin Ball is still running alongside Mad Man's Monsters. Pumpkin Ball is a zombie-Pumpkin fused mashup, in which players who are down but not out (DBNO) will self-revive at once, unless players aim for their head or manage to blow them apart. There's also big Juvie Pumpkin Heads, to make sure no players forget which season it is. Completing 13 Pumpkin Ball matches gets players the Frankenstein Imago character skin.

Talking to Digital Foundary, Coalition tech director Mike Raynor said an "optimised" version of Gears 5 will be "available at launch on Xbox Series X."
He adds "The title will support Smart Delivery, so if you already have the title in whatever form you'll be able to get it on Series X for free."
The Coalition currently has a working next-gen version of Gears 5 that it produced in two weeks. Working with Epic Games, the studio has upped all of the quality presets of the console version to be equivalent to the PC's 'ultra' settings. The team has also added improved contact shadows and software-based ray tracing, as well as improving the frame rate of the cutscenes (up to 60fps from the Xbox One's 30fps). This has all been achieved in a fortnight, and reportedly runs akin to a PC with an expensive Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics card, despite being currently optimised.

I guess Gears 5 is the flagship game for launch with Halo: Infinite out of the way. Tons of improvements, New Game+, additional difficulty levels, story DLC, Batista as Marcus, and even a new retail release with different artwork.

The single player expansion Hivebusters is coming on December 15th.
Return to Gears 5 with the Hivebusters expansion and undertake their first suicide mission. Explore the tropical Galangi islands, battle enemies with the team’s ultimate abilities and confront a deadly new predator. Included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

I didn't know about this and the fact it's included with Game Pass makes it great news! Thanks for posting. I just finished Gears Tactics on game pass yesterday. What a great time that was. It was my first experience with a tactics style game. Sure would like to see it get an expansion as well. I might have to see if there are any other tactics style games out there that plays like the Gears version.

I still have my XBox pass but rarely on since I don't have but a XBox 360 but do play occasionally on PC. I got GoW4 and never really got around to finishing. During my time with the 360, Halo and Gears were basically it. My best times with friends were Gears Horde Mode and since have missed those days tremendously......i don't know much on Gears 5....story, MP, Co-op and of course horde. I'd love to get back in it providing there are other playing.....BuzzZaw66 - Xbox

Just bear in mind that it’s Game Pass Ultimate that has access to the expansion, not the base level Game Pass.

That’s interesting. I always thought of Ultimate as just Game Pass and Live rolled in to one. Didn’t realize that Game Pass itself has two different versions. It doesn’t impact me as I have always just subscribed to Ultimate anyway but it may others.

Gears 5 is on sale on Steam at $10.00 which has a massive sale going on...I almost grabbed it but wanted to ask is Horde Mode still part of it like past GoW Games, do people still play it and is there cross play since I'd have to get it for PC....the ultimate Edition which has the new Hive DLC is not and at normal price....

I'd say most of them are worth playing through. I skipped Judgment but have played through all the mainline games. If you think you'd like one, you'll probably like 'em all. 2 and 3 are my favorites, and visually, they hold up astonishingly well (even if some of the character modeling/animation is really showing its age). I prefer 5 to 4, which suffers from some uneven pacing.
