Well, I thought there might be a little interest in this Namco title. I used to really enjoy the Ace Combat titles back in the day and we haven't had one released in a long, long time (Ace Combat 6 came out in Oct 2007). I'm looking forward to this. Getting it via Gamefly tomorrow or Saturday.

No reviews up yet. Don't know if that's a bad thing or whether that's normal for a Namco title.

I'd probably pick this up on the cheap especially if it comes pre-bundled with the VR support I read about.

There are separate preorder bonuses for Xbox and PS4. Basically a port of AC5 for PS4 and a backwards compatible AC6 on Xbox. Note that they have said they won't sell AC5 separately. It's widely considered one of if not the best in the series, but Bandai/Namco have frequently done this with preorder bonuses. So if you want that, preorder before release tomorrow.

Wasn't AC5 a PS2 game? I wonder if it's in HD or anything or just a straight PS2 port.

Picked up the game from Best Buy (though I kept it sealed because I have a rental copy coming in the mail).
Got the digital download code for AC5. The cutscenes are just straight 1.33:1 blurry PS2 videos, but the game is Widescreen and looks to be in HD (though it's probably just upscaled). Looks pretty good actually. Not a Shadow of Colossus remaster, but certainly fine for the type of game it is.

I've enjoyed the Ace Combat games I've played (I believe it was 4 & 5 on the PS2 back in the day) and I'd be interested in playing this game eventually... but it wouldn't be something I gotta buy day one or anything. I'll wait till it hits a sale for under $20.
