I won't be able to start playing this game until later this month. Reading people's comments about this, it's going to be torture.

I thought about it. By the time it was definitive that it wouldn't be getting to me on Friday, I didn't feel like going out, and I was out of town most of yesterday. So it'd be going through the mild inconvenience of a return for what would then have been just one additional day.

If it had been for sure on Friday afternoon, I think I would've done an exchange, though.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, giving me a full day of productivity before I give myself over to this game.

I take back what I said about the side missions, they're getting tedious now that I have to chase pigeons around.

Did get to the point where I have fast travel options now. 40% done. Still having fun though.

I ordered two copies in separate orders, and Best Buy sent me one code. Their support forums and Twitter are overflowing with complaints about codes not coming in (or codes already being marked as used).

I got mine on Thursday night. In my Gmail, it ended up in my Promotions category so I happened to catch it. No issues redeeming it here.

I received my code about five minutes after I picked up my console. No problems redeeming it.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I picked my game up Friday, didn't get my pre-order code. A few hours later I checked the BBY forums. One of the CS reps on there said that all the codes went out Friday morning "as expected" and everyone should have recieved them. If you didn't get one, he said to send a PM to the "Gaming CS" acount on the forum. I did immediatly. The thread is now 47 pages and growing as more people continue to complain that they didn't get a code.

I just checked now, and their board system says if the reciepient has read the PM. Mine still says unread. Some people on the boards are reporting they got an answer from that account, but only a handful. Some people are calling customer service and getting "wait 48 hrs" answers. Some are being told to contact Sony. Some are being told BB is "all out of codes", but others are getting codes from customer service though, so that can't be true.

A couple people are reporting being told "the current wait time is 15 minutes" when they call CS but end up being on hold for anywhere from one and a half to two and a half HOURS before anyone picks the call up.

What a clusterfuck.

Jesus, game's been out for only 2 days - what game wouldn't get tedious if you play it so much in such a short span of time?

Most good or great games. If the game is fun, the amount played over whatever time frame is irrelevant; i'm playing it that much because I enjoy it. I don't know if it's you or someone else that i've seen complain about this on here before with other people and playing a lot but I think it's silly every time.

And I didn't say the game overall is tedious, just some of the side missions that are typical of open world games like this.

You should probably save the pigeons until you have mastered web swinging, I didn't find it tedious at all.

Good point, I haven't really upgraded any of those skills. Or maybe I just suck at web swinging in general

It takes time. Get the charge jump and the extra boost. Then don’t boost til you’re at the top of your swing. You’ll get the hang off it. I thought combat sucked and now it’s easy.

My Target order finally arrived today. The top of the CE box was caved in and fucked up and since they are sold out, they refunded me $50. So for $100 I'll end up keeping it. Looking forward to diving in soon. Tomb Raider is going to be on hold for a bit.

How is the difficultly in the game? Is there options to change it?

There's 3 difficulty settings: Friendly, Amazing, and Spectacular. I'm playing on Amazing and don't find it particularly difficult so far. I'll die a few times, but nothing crazy.

Semantics, but shouldn't "Amazing" be the more difficult setting than "Spectacular"?

I don't think so. There are many more things I would see in a week that I would describe as Amazing than I would Spectacular.

I think that the word Spectacular implies something truly exceptional.

I was thinking more along the lines that "Amazing" is Spider-Man's flagship title, and "Spectacular" is the offshoot.

In that case, wouldn't Amazing be in line with "Normal" difficulty and an offshoot more likely to be considered "Hard"?

I mean The Amazing Spider-Man is the "Normal" Spider-Man comic.

Does anyone want a pre-order bonus code? I wound up with an extra one.
