Divinity: Original Sin 2

The RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 is set for release on 14 September 2017. It is a turn based RBG, something that unfortunately there are not that many made anymore.

If you have not seen the trailer yet, here it is:

Is anyone else looking forward to this game?

I'm about 35 hours into the first one right now, and it's AMAZING. I'm beyond excited for the sequel, but I honestly don't think I'll have time to play it for the rest of the year.

Cannot wait for this to come out on Thursday! I just played through the first game a few months back, and it was incredibly good. I am so ready to dive back in.

I have held off playing the early access version as I don't want to spoil the experience of playing the full game.

Is it getting a console release?

I am loving it so far. Some great changes to inventory and other minor irritations from the first game. The voice acting is really great (particularly the animals, Pet Pal is a must). Combat is even better than the first game.

i am finding this game to be really difficult on classic mode.
any hints?
unlike other rpgs u cannot find random stuff to kill to level up. I am level 2 and facing battles with level 3-4 multiple npcs

Did you play the first one? I know the first one it was difficult at first until you started unlocking high level spells..

I am waiting on this one until it gets a console release...which I hope it does. The first one was one of the best games of the year.

If you are in an area with enemies a few levels higher, you are in an area that you are not ready for yet. Explore around until you find enemies at your level. The game wants you to follow a certain path.

Here is a level map in case you'd rather just see where you should be going.

For those who play this...can you explain or input on the game's combat & RPG elements? I've looked at trailers but still trying to how much actual combat with the RPG is done. I've played and still do Diablo and love that style. But I don't care too much for the "Fight...stop and choose...fight...stop and choose...fight...talk ...." loadouts.

Also in it do you have a AI that tags along or companion....like Diablo has...or have a group?

I've never played any Diablo, but from what little I've heard (and I may be wrong), it is a hack 'n slash with endless mobs of enemies with less emphasis on story. Divinity OS 2 is about as far from that as you can get. There's tons of exploring, dialogue with characters, etc between encounters with enemies. It's also turn based combat in case the trailer didn't indicate that to you.

I'm guessing it's probably not your cup of tea.

i am in Fort Joy and explored most of the area. All the battles i've come across are lvl4 guys. This game seems extremely tough to start out. I frequently don't have enough spells to use up all my action points too. and getting them are too expensive for me right now.

Re: Divinity: Original Sin 2

the quest log seems bugged.
sometimes when u complete a quest the status gets changed to completed and then it gets removed and it doesn't show up in the archived quests.
anyone else experience this?

Re: Divinity: Original Sin 2

I started this up for the first time last night. I spent probably 2 hours on the ship, trying to figure out everything. I had keys but there were a few doors I couldn't open. I did go back and help the people fight rather than leave on the life boat.

I'm still exploring the camp you start off in after the boat intro. I'm not sure if I'm approaching battle correct...there's a fight I can trigger in a cave; I "think" it's for a side quest I started, playing hide and seek with a kid. Regardless, I keep getting killed if I initiate it. I have 3 people (along with a squirrel and a cat) in my party. Anyone happen to know what I'm referring to?

Started on Switch but I may swap over to Steam (thanks to cross play). The controls are fine but I always feel so limited with what I can see on screen. Zooming out doesn't do much since you can't change the angle you're looking.

Yeah. Don’t talk to the female elf by the campfire. I think there’s no way to pass the speech check.

Anyone have any experience with HRK? They are selling Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Eternal Edition GOG Edition for $39.99. I am tempted since GOG currently has it for $89.99.

Steam has it for $50 limited time sale.

(Actually buy them from that steam page individually for $39.xx)

Yeah, I saw the deal on Steam (but missed the $39.14 price of individual products -- good catch  ). I was just hoping to get it on GOG for their lack of DRM.

Actually there's a bundle on steam for the 3 minor ones that makes it 38.xx.

Maybe I'm misreading you but... Are you saying there's a bundle of the three non Original Sin games that's $38+, whereas you can get all five games individually for $39+? Steam prices are weird.
