Since Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts is hard as fuck, here's how to select levels:

Highlight ''Exit'' on the option screen with controller one.
Hold L + Start on controller two and press Start on controller one.

Too bad Contra doesn't have a level select...

Even on easy Contra 3 is hard.

Not that I'm aware of, there may be an adapter but these controller ports are much smaller than the originals.

I was surprised, walked into Target today and decided to look at the video game section. They have four SNES Classics in stock. I'm assuming it's new stock as they haven't been there. Seems like Nintendo is keeping their word and stocking these.

Target appears to have unlisted it online, so the only way to check/purchase it is to call/go to the store.

If that's the case, there may or may not be more stock than the NES classic, but it won't be as easy for scalplers to find it and line up at opening, leading to product actually appearing on shelves

I did make it through Super Metroid and I only had to look up one thing when I was totally stuck. I remembered a lot more than I thought I would. Such a great game.

You mean, in terms of the replenishment? Because I think Nintendo has already shipped more SNES Classics than they did NES Classics.

FWIW, my local Target had several for sale also, so it's worth it for anyone who still wants one to go by their local store.

I'm taking my time going through SM. I know I'm getting close to ridley and he always gave me a hard time. Its fun exploring the world of zebes. They do a good job in the game of giving respawns to help replenish ammo so I'm shooting and blowing up everything, lol.

Thanks for the heads-up/reminder. I decided to call a few Targets I pass by on my way home from work and found one a little out of the way that had some in stock. I managed to get mine. The target associate asked how many I wanted. I told him that I wish they'd limit sales to one per customer and told him I only wanted the one for myself. Who knows when I'll get around to playing the thing, but I'm glad to now own one. Hopefully the Classic N64 will be as plentiful.

I reached the final level in Ghouls And Ghosts ready to take on the final boss. Went through hell getting through these levels. I get the screen with the message from the Princess. WTF!

So I go through the whole game again thinking I automatically get the item I need by beating the bosses. Nope! The game sends me back a level again at this point I’m ready to smash shit . Then I find out there’s a level select

The latest rumor is that the next classic release will be the Game Boy Classic, not the N64 Classic.

That would make sense since they could technically use all the exact same internal components again. I wonder if they'd make it a "portable" or still a device to plug into your HDTV with some sort of Gameboy-like controller.

They could just re-release the original B&W Gameboy with 20 games pre-installed, rather than force someone to hook up a gameboy shaped box to their TV with a HDMI cable. They would have to write some fancy code to simulate that crappy low refresh black & white LCD screen, preferable with a dead line of pixels.

I managed to blow through both Ridley and Mother Brain because I had a metric crapton of missiles. And I didn't go out of my way to find them - I just went to both of those fights with 120 regular and 40 super missiles. Only took two tries with Ridley and I beat MB on the first try.

I finally pulled the trigger and hacked mine to add more games. It was a little nerve-wracking but worked perfectly. Now I've got the Star Wars games, Final Fantasy II, all the Final Fights and about 10-15 more to play. It's pretty great.

A GameBoy Classic would be cool as a portable or as something you can set up on your tv. I almost think doing it as Super GameBoy would work better but I'd take either way. I mean they could even take the same shell they have for the SNES Classic and just add the Super GameBoy cartridge to it. Plus it'd probably be cheaper to manufacture than something that would be using a screen and would have more components to make it work.

They should do gameboy advance, since those hold up far better than GB classic games do.

Thanks for the head's up!

The 2 closest Walmart's showed stock on brickseek, and I was able to pick one up.

GameBoy has a lot of good games. The problem is the screen on the original was so crappy. Playing some games on 3DS from Virtual Console they look better and are far easier to see. I'm sure some wouldn't like the fact that the games aren't in color though.
