While I liked the ending in concept, it definitely wasn’t delivered in a believable way. If the world is escalating to nuclear war, it’s not prophetic but coin-flip wisdom. As you said the only way to make it work is if he set a nuke off, but it might have worked if f the game took place across the world to show the growing hostility, or if the game showed the start of a war not the nuclear holocaust as you play the last portion.
So wait, the

ending nukes were just a pure coincidence, nothing to do with the Family? Somehow I totally missed that. And I'm kind of glad I did, actually. Because that does make it kinda dumb. Oh well--bring on FC3!

Sorry but where’s the FC3 download on the PS4? Got the gold edition, put in code way back but can’t seem to locate it.

Just search the PS-store for "far cry 3 classic edition", and it should be free to download for you.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

does FC3 have same basic gameplay, open world, lots to do and stuff like that as FC5? how's graphics? is it as repetitive as FC5 (which i think is only flaw)?

I downloaded it and played a bunch last night. (Beat it back in the day.) The story is excellent, and the basic gameplay is a lot like FC5. That said, playing it right after FC5 the graphics are definitely a bit less, as are some of the game mechanics. But overall, it's one of my favorite games of all time and it's pretty dang fun getting back into it.

sounds good to me. look forward to it, possibly after 5. how's the repetitiveness of missions and such? my one gripe about 5...

what's basic plot of 3?

Dude, Wiki...

Plot
Jason Brody (Gianpaolo Venuta) is on vacation with a group of friends in the Rook Islands, celebrating his younger brother Riley (Alex Harrouch) getting a pilot's license. However, on a skydiving trip, they land on a pirate-infested island and are kidnapped by pirate lord Vaas Montenegro (Michael Mando), who plans to sell them into slavery. Jason escapes with help from his older brother Grant (Lane Edwards), who is killed by Vaas. Jason is rescued by Dennis (Charles Malik Whitfield), who is an adopted member of the islands' native Rakyat tribe. Dennis recognizes Jason's potential as a warrior, and gives him the Tatau, the tattoos of a Rakyat warrior. Jason then helps the Rakyat in a number of missions and ends up finding one of his friends...

yeah, I know. There's a reason I put quotation marks around my reply. That was a classic OldBoy follow-up question.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

anyway...

i love having Cheeseburger and Peaches as my guns for hire. they can really tear an area up. almost up to Jacob. couple more missions i should be there. if it weren't for the repetitive nature of some missions, this game would continue my win streak of great games. started with Resident Evil 7, BioShock 1, 2, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus...

I just hope I don’t get fatigued going from 5 to 3 with similar stuff to do. BioShock 1-2 certainly gripped me, but both games just seemed unique and fresh imo. If FC3 is similar over and over, do this, go there, not sure my streak will continue...

All those games you listed are pretty linear. Fc5 like many open world games give the player felxibility on what to do next. If you've already cleared two regions, then just finish the third and finish the game.

yeah, i like linear. seems to suit me. but, on occasion i'll get into an open world. Red Dead Redemption was probably last one i really got invested in, unless Destiny 2 is considered open. but, i like FC5, but do just want to finish and move on (Jacob's taken trial missions were a pain, hopefully 3 is all i have to face). just don't want fatigue to set in if i start FC3, but considering the love for it, i at least want to give it a try...

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Just FYI Far Cry 3 is a lot tougher than 5 especially in the beginning. Everything you do is a struggle and almost any animal will kill you easily, even Emus.

I forgot that. It was a bit frustrating after getting through 5 without even breaking a sweat.

That doesn’t sound too enticing. I guess we’ll see. it got very good reviews and I like 5 well enough. I still have quite the backlog, might play BioShock: Infinite again and finish that trilogy. Plus I have all my war games to get to CoD, Battlefield 1, want to finish Destiny 2, Monster Hunter, sheesh, I’ll be dead before all that happens...

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Thought Jacob boss battle was gonna be a bitch, but not really. I guess, the Father, here I come. I don’t have to get any resistance points for hm, right? Just follow the story missions now, I guess, till I get to him...

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

almost done with Far Cry 3...a few things.

I forgot how much more difficult combat was in the older games. I miss that.

I miss the radio towers...make fun of them all you want there was something enjoyable about them...

Far Cry 3 does a better job than 4 and 5 of laying out the story missions in a controlled pattern, while still letting you have a great open world experience. While I think Far Cry 5 is great, it lacks a bit by letting you run all over the place from the start.

Fuck the animals in Far Cry 3...fuck them all to hell.

I really am enjoying my time with 3 again. Frame rate is solid, which was not the case last gen..and while the graphics are not amazing, they look decent at the higher resolution, outside far away parts.

You are completely right when it comes to the radio towers, I missed those in the latest Far Cry. Those were one of the funnest things to accomplish...And I loved how they opened up a bunch of different missions everytime you liberated one...

And you're right about the animals...I remember playing Far Cry 3 and being super paranoid about being attacked at any given time, whereas with the latest Far Cry the animals seemed to be way, way too easy to put down...

That said, Far Cry 3 remains a personal favorite...The villain alone was easily the best of the series...After beating the latest one, I have to say that overall Far Cry 5 was pretty weak...Especially after you beat the game...Even after beating Far Cry 3 and 4, I thought there was still a ton of stuff to do and it was still fun...After beating Far Cry 5, I just don't have any motivation to continue playing...I'd rather go back to playing SkyRim...
