I have not tried out the .50 cal yet on these, so curious to know now how many shots they take to down one.

Find any Pickup with a rear Gun Mount....they'll do lots of damage...might take a few passes but the Pilot will yell something, "Taking heavy damage up here".....I have taken down about three planes with the rocket launcher....the pilot of the copters are getting smart....I'll fire a rocket while they're still and they'll veer to miss it and then continue to shoot at me.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
Is there another game this (one/series) can be compared to?
edit...holy shit this looks awesome and right up my alley. is the deluxe edition worth it for the extra gear and stuff? or is that for MP?

It's a great game. I think the Deluxe Edition would be worth it. Three expansions and a remaster of Far Cry 3. But you can always buy the Season Pass later and it will probably go on sale at some future time

Well the Seed kids all dealt with, today its time to take on the Father.
A little tip as well. I found a shooting challenge which is 3 sets of targets followed by shooting at birds. You have a choice of a machine gun or shotgun in front of you. The target shooting is easy enough. I trid the bird shooting with both machine gun and shotgun a few times and a bit harder. I decided to go a different route and threw a timed explosive in the air. Two explosions later, challenge completed. Much easier using this method.

Really, you get Far Cry 3? Is that a standout in series? Is that on digital copies as well or only physical? I’m pretty much sold. The zombie and Vietnam expansions sound amazing. This will most likely be next after I finish BioShock 2 this weekend...

They said that the Far Cry 3 is not a remaster, just Far Cry 3 Classic Edition
https://www.destructoid.com/far-cry-...s-485899.phtml
"Announced this morning, Ubisoft is bundling in the Far Cry 3 Classic Edition with the Far Cry 5 season pass (and four weeks early) on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. It seems pretty simple -- you can get it as a separate download for free, and it appears as if it doesn't have any major upgrades in the realm of a remake or remaster. "

Well good luck with The Father...no telling what that part will be like...
I almost hit the half point in Faith's Region last night...I just started on the main parts instead of the small & nick-picking in Holland...plus got the Hire Two Guns Option which gives you plenty. Get Nick in the Air and anyone else on the ground and you're basically set.
As to another game that this can be compared to...not sure on that...even Ghost Recon Wildlands is a different style. I didn't play earlier FC games, just FC4 but like it, this one is more than a Good vs Bad. In a nutshell from what to expect is the unexpected because some many variables are in the game and at work...there are no set patterns, no go to Point A, then B, then C. You could probably replay a mission or area 20 times over and no-way, no-how two would ever be the same.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
Well I spent a lot of time completing missions and side quests and think I only have 4 remaining total. Found all comics, baseballs, records etc. I also completed the game. It was rather a different ending than I anticipated, but in a good and bad way. Certainly opens the door for the series to have a different world to explore if they continue the story.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
I think most people consider 3 the best in the series so far.
Something funny happened today whilst playing. The last base I had to take out was on the top of a mountain. A helicopter with four guys in it was getting ready to attack. I had killed all troops on the ground and just these four to go. So I did my usual technique of shooting the pilot, and usually the helicopter just crashes. Not this time. The chopper starts spinning widely and starts spiraling upwards . I watch it for a good two minutes getting higher and higher. I take a few pot shots and kill two more guys. I realize that the base can only be completed once the final guy is killed. A few seconds later it starts spiraling down and takes a little bit more time to finally crash and base captured.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
that was funny about the copter going up instead of down....and congrads to finishing the end.
I wish I had captured what I saw on video...no idea how to do it...but typically when you start taking out bad guys in the road it causes a pile up......in this case we shot the driver just when he stopped....the Truck started to shake and turn slowly in a circle and I see the driver's legs thru the bottom of the vehicle...all the while inside blood is squirting like a mini-fountain going all over the place....
2/3 of Faith's Region but I'm taking the scenic route....I took a boat all the way around the river last night and that was actually fun...saw a lot of hidden and unmarked areas...and the views were really stunning....Far Cry games do make you want to explore.....
...and in Faith's area I think I've seen more Wildlife fight each other than humans...there are Bears at every turn and throw in those that pop up under Faith's Bliss...it's like every 30 seconds.

I wanted to play today but my internet is down. I figured with a single player you wouldn’t need online. Sooo pissed right now . You should not have always online for a fucking single player game!

I got my platinum on this finally.
Easily one of the most frustrating games in a long time....not because it was garbage, but because it was so brilliant at times and yet did so many things wrong.
All I am going to say about the ARCADE mode is it is pure shit....that you HAVE to play if you want your plat...
The game itself is at times fun as hell. Flying around...wing suit...taking over bases...funny characters...great side missions....even fishing..
The main story missions sucked. Some of them even repeated themselves over and over...and while I in no way care at all about the games politics...I did find it overly preachy...
But the main thing I hated was the forced knock/out missions. All 12 of them. Someone at Ubisoft loves the idea of knocking out players and forcing them to watch people laugh at you and mock you. It happens in EVERY Far Cry game....but now it happens with every main story mission, and you have no choice to do them when the game decides to make you (outside going to another region)
I got to the point that I actually skipped every story cinema that the game let you skip.
Overall I would rank the Far Cry games
2>3>1>4>5
6 out of 10 overall.

So you think the game was overly preachy, yet you skipped every cut scene you could. How can it be too preachy if you don't watch them.To begin with? And preachy about what? Gun nut religiously fanatical 'murica? I guess the truth can hurt.
I dont recall the first game having many knock outs throughout the game. Maybe one right at the end. But I get your point. And I do agree that games with single player should never force a person to have to go online, even if its to get a platinum award.
