At least some of the other game companies reached out to the employees who were fired to let them know they are looking for people. I know Blizzard and Bethesda did it.

Got a message dated 12/1/17 from PlayStation : All Marvel Heroes Omega purchases made on or after 8/17/17 are being refunded. Those made 8/17-10/16 will be refunded back to your PSN Wallet, those on or after 10/17/17 will be refunded to the original form of payment, or to PSN Wallet if original form of payment is not available.
They said in the next few weeks, but I got my refund already. Happy that my wasted $35 "sale" purchase has come back to me. Bummed that I still wasted $17 to play the Beta and buy War Machine, but like I said, it could have been a lot worse. Glad Sony is doing the right thing here.

I assume Sony is reimbursing out of their own pocket, which is good, because Gazillion couldn't even pay out accrued PTO to it's ex employees.

Here's an article about the last days of the company:

I would feel gross personally asking Sony or Microsoft for a refund when they don't have anything to do with the game getting shut down.

I don't know if I'd feel gross asking, but I agree it wasn't really their fault (though they did put it on sale and that's what enticed me to buy it). Thankfully, I didn't have to.
