If you could play a game for the first time, as if never played before, which one?

i have very fond memories of NES Bionic Commando, which i've shared here before. Leaving tv and unit on all weekend while i was away (because there were no saves) and then finishing it and killing Hitler the night i game home is highlight of video game life. that i would love a do over with, having never played before...

Basically my favorite games of all time, so Star Control II or Ultima VI: The Black Gate, assuming the latter could work well on modern systems.

As for something recent, Life Is Strange.

Off the top of my head:

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Bioshock

I still have to finish this. Was loving it. Tough game but mix of exploration, thinking and action. Perfect blend. Just got distracted and moved on.

Also, Resident Evil 4. I try to go back with all the new incarnations, but never has the same magic.

The 100% and millions of hours of Red Dead Redemption I played wouldn't mind reliving, even if just to hunt. Again, played the One version but got distracted and moved on...

Probably a story heavy game that I really loved, like Uncharted 2, Bioshock Infinite, or Mass Effect 1/2.

Easy, Bioshock FTMFW.

Close second might be Life is Strange.

Ooo, Life is Strange is a good one!

I'd love to replay the first 10 minutes of Last of Us for the first time :p

You have great taste in games! But I think you meant VII, not VI. I was going to pick those two as well, since they're also my favorite games of all time. I liked Life is Strange quite a bit, too.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

I love this game so much. Easily one of my favorite PS2 games ever. I was pretty sad once I finished my first 60-75+ hour play-through.

Lunar: The Silver Star, the only caveat is I'd have to be that same 10 year old I was back then. In retrospect, it isn't that amazing of a game, but as a 10 year old playing his first real RPG, it was completely amazing.

It's a tie between Bioshock and The Last of Us for me.

Wipeout XL. Audiovisually fantastic and such unique, polished gameplay within the racing genre. Probably the most memorable of ten or so games that have truly blown me away over the years.

Probably Portal 2.

Some great puzzles, and Stephen Merchant killed it as Wheatley.
