Man this grind is insane, and I kinda love it. But I do feel really bad for casual players. It's going to take forever to get to a respectable power for end game.

Played quite a bit, got to level 50 with 501 light (while being able to infuse my favorite exotics). Got two more barons to take out - lots of side-content stacked up.

Theres a pretty big cheese in the blind well right now. If you use telesto each bolt counts as a kill. Seems really useful for speeding up that grind for more sparks of light.

I've had 3 exotics drop so far, but they have all been year 1 gear.

Don't do too much Crucible, but for me, the best exotic Auto Rifle to use with the Actium War Rig, in every instance, is Hard Light. I've tried them all, and that seems to work best for me.

DISCLAIMER: I have never actually played with slop so I truly don't know if he has bad aim

I have terrible aim!
In games anyhow, in real life, I'm actually a really good shot - rifles and bows!
I've been told I have a natural talent for it, I just don't particularly enjoy it like I do in games.

I got the free version from the PSN store. Are any of you still playing anywhere near a level I could pop in?
I liked the original's story and had fun playing with you all. I just got tired of the grinding, so much so I laid down $30 for Iron whatever and couldn't even play it because my level wasn't high enough and I just wasn't having fun grinding.

I got some sour news for you man. The game IS a grind - especially at the top. It's actually pretty easy to level up through playing the campaign, but getting your light level up through infusing gear is purely grinding, basically doing the same things over and over. Now, most people who are fans don't mind this, as they really enjoy the gameplay/mechanics, which makes it okay to grind, and getting a rare gun becomes all the more gratifying. But if you're not that into the gameplay, and already finding the grind to be tedious - it's not going to get any better.

The gameplay is fun, the worlds are beautiful, the storyline is compelling. The grinding sucks. Its why I stopped playing Borderlands 2. When I realized it was as much about curating and upgrading and tinkering as the actual plot, moreso even, I just stopped. Hit that wall with Destiny.
Hmm. We'll see. Would be nice to play with you all again.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Finished the new campaign. Not bad. I have zero interest in Cayde's pistol - not a fan of pistols (remember, I have shitty aim). I have been loving the bow - I seem to aim pretty well with that. I'm at light 505 - I'd be higher, but I can't find any goddamned masterwork cores - I already dismantled everything I have to get me enough for infusing up to 505, but now I'm fresh out, with no way to get more - and buying more than one at a time from Spider is prohibitively expensive.

Regarding the masterwork cores, there is a consumable that can drop when sharding legendary items that can give you a core from a boss/major kill (matterweave, or something)

Got the PVP portion on Chaperone done last night. Much more forgiving then D1 5% for a kill and only a loss of 1% on death. Once a element is done, its locked in and cant drop.

I remember the quest was so hard in D1 that a lot of people didn't get it done until you were able to cheese it in SRL.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Hello Fellow DVD Talk "Daggers"....
I'm actually doing something that I almost swore (about 90% certain) I'd never do....think about jumping into Destiny again. I've still got the messages thru the "Daggers" chat and still read them but with Forsaken and new game modes, weapons and such...a lot just doesn't make sense. Occasionally I'll read some game site with something related to The Forsaken and that's been it. But several at my work have jumped back in and have asked me if I play still while bragging how much better it is overall than when D2 first came out. In fact they've mentioned it feels like when D1 came out in terms of excitement, modes, rewards and just playing.
The last time I tried to get back in was before The Foresaken came out and came away with that same empty feeling of spending several hours out, getting a load of engrams but not one at or above my level....essentially that "take one step forward and 2-4 steps back" feeling. But according to those here at work..about 4-5...a lot has changed and for the better. They'll try to explain how the drops works, the new modes like Gambit, some new "Horde" mode, how Nightfalls and Heroics are, you need this from here and that from there and just goes over my head....
So I've come to The Experts who have stayed and played thick & thin thru it all who can summarize and put it into a simple perspective The Forsaken & D2 in it's current state and also what the future holds? Listening to them here I joked it might be better if I just delete the game and start from scratch.
So what and how is the Light Level now...650? What about those who didn't do Warmind or Osiris or like 200 levels below?
Are you still "Almost Required" to do Raids and/or Crucible?...for me and some others, it seemed the game funneled you to do Raids no-matter what to level up and get the best gear. Felt like doing other parts in the game were a waste of time and rewards were not that great.
Are drops (Engrams) thru Public Events and even Nightfall and Heroics still at and below your level? Probably the biggest pet-peeve of mine with the game....why bother playing other aspects of the game when 98% of the rewards sucked and was useless except to clog your inventory. They said it doesn't work that way anymore and better but how?
Story...I like stories since they're a part of the game and in D2 it was ok but it was like once done you were kicked out the door, see ya and now run around doing stuff that doesn't really reward you....and no I still haven't read or looked up the story in The Foresaken.
Guardians and New Powers...they have said all three are a blast to play...are the D1 powers available or just useless anyways?
Resources...another pet-peeve as Bungie would first say you need to collect this and that only to change or delete it and now you needed something else. I had stuff I couldn't tell if still used or needed to delete. Between useless engrams and some unknown ever changing resources, my stash was constantly full with little or no returns selling & breaking down.
I appreciate any input, tips and clarification on this. I really liked D1 overall along with the Dagger Raids...VoG was fun but still liked the runs in Crota best with Group A & B, right up there with Gears of War Horde mode as fun-factor.......the look and gameplay especially the combat mechanics were fun...just felt like unless you did a Raid or Crucible you weren't going anywhere which led to, "explain why I'm playing this game again?". I see The Foresaken is on sale in the PS Store...$29.00...but after being burned by Fallout 76, not sure if I'm set on buying something I swore almost completely I'd never play again....thanks for your time and any help/suggestions....
